Can relate to so much of this.

Was homeless for a month or two, living out of my car. Grew up with an alcoholic "father figure" (they were never married) who was very abusive. Found out wife cheated on me the same exact day that I found out my best friend was on his death bed.

Lot's more horrible times but we keep on keepin' on. Not much else we can do.

Right now my closest brother is in a manic state pretty much going crazy and it's been awful on the family. We're trying to get him to the doctor tomorrow but I doubt he will agree to going because he thinks he is fine and everyone is out to get him etc. He is probably gonna lose his job and a lot of friends as well. I just hope he can get on some medication and get things under control

developed psychosis and allergies from being bipolar and drug use. the allergies and body pain came first. tested positive for everything on the test and i still cant breathe out my nose.

20-24 stayed home and did absolutely nothing. i was going crazy and thought i was normal. my dad ended calling the cops on me and i got locked up in the mental ward with the worst anxiety and body pain. called a lawyer to get out and im being treated now.

honestly during that time period i didnt care about my life at all and was a leech

i'm currently battling through that right now, from 20-23 years old, did practically nothing but stay home, lift weights and smoke , and have also been having some paranoid thoughts and few panic attacks.

how did you get out of this rut? although i'm average looking and decently buff, I have a bit of social anxiety and it's hard for me to be myself around others, since i haven't been out for so long. (awkward vibe/smile/nervousness)

Honestly my motorcycle accident September of this year.

It left me in a coma for 9 days and I have a traumatic brain injury. I was in the hospital for 65 days. I'll be out of work for at least 6 months.

Slowly healing.

stop the herb. thats the key first step. ive read pamphlets on schizophrenia and they theorize its a immune system problem. used to stuff me up bad and and it still sort of does, but i would legit be holding on for dear life in social situations if i had more than 2 puffs.

social anxiety- for me it was learning to be uncomfortable and putting myself out there. become better by fitness and eating and sleeping right.

its ok to be awkward, its ok to be nervous. once ur sort of okay with that then u can grow

Thanks man. Yea it sucks. I'm for sure not the same person. I'm a little off.

I forgot to include they fuked up my catheter and tore my urethra and I had to have 5 blood transfusions. Finally they had to operate and "sear" the inside of my penis to stop the bleeding. Unbelievably I woke up during that operation. I would never wish that on anyone.

Worst 2 months of my life. The pain made me scream in the hospital all night. It was crazy.

Damn. All of my times are nothing compared to a lot of you guys. I have been very lucky in my life. Dealt with very few deaths and heartbreaks. No major injuries despite high level athletics. No major sickness to where I had to be hospitalized. Never really been depressed or anything. Just stupid stuff and menial stuff

Sorry to hear brahs. Some of you guys have had some rough experiences

You're also 25. I didn't start having major injuries until I was 28. If you keep up at high level athletics you most likely will sustain some bad injuries eventually. Just the way it goes over years and decades.

Fuk. How old are you? He's in his 50s and sustained it just a few years ago. He gets dizzy real bad and is trying to get that chit under control, seems his eyes are actually shaking from the exam they gave him.

Srs can't imagine anything worse than your brain being fuked. I've had a blown out bicep and knee which sucks but to literally not be able to think straight. Holy fuk.

thanks, i appreciate the post! i actually notice that when i smoke , my nose get's super stuffy that it's actually impossible to breathe through my nose, so i end up breathing through my mouth. And one thing i've also noticed is that whenever i do toke up, my stomach always get's really ****ing tense, and it's all chest breathing, zero belly breathing whatsoever and this pretty much spirals me into a panic attack/paranoid thoughts because i can't even get any oxygen, and when I'm in this state i pretty much always see the number triple 6 on my computer + constantly thinking irrational/negative thoughts although i know they are intrusive/stupid as f*ck.. all this put together i always get the worst panic attack that last's about an hour, and can't breathe for ****.

i'm going to try quitting this **** for good, unfortunately it won't be easy because my brother also smokes , and i legit get physical withdrawals if i don't smoke (cold sweats 24/7 and **** sleep).

Worst physical: nothing stands out in particular...i've been in enough pain that i've nearly passed out a few times but I feel everyone has a max threshold of pain tbh
Worst mental: When my ex who I was in love and obsessed with broke up with me meanwhile my mother was sick and bedridden and a father I had no relationship with.. felt very isolated and stopped eating/lifting.

Currently experiencing similar horrible feels though.. there's a girl I like who is seemingly leading me on yet acts very interested and it's been stressful to say the least but hard to just stop dem feels.

Emotional pain has been worse than physical pain in my life tbh

Also finding out at 23 I have pre-arthritis, as well as bursitis in both shoulders took a big toll as well.

I'm 36 and was in prime health which I'm sure helped. I was extremely lucky man. The doctors told my family "if he wakes up he may not ever recognize you" I know there was a lot of praying going on.

I am definitely foggy but I am recovering extremely well.

I get dizzy as well but not to bad. I'll keep your dad in my thoughts and prayers man. Hoping for the best.

My years between 15-17 was the worst. I became the definition of a supreme, turned my back against the world, honestly can't believe I became that person. They diagnosed me with schizophrenia and everything. I just got tired of dealing with people and dealing with everything that I would just avoid everything, lock myself in my room, and just binge the internet.

My life and personality did a complete 180 from then from 18-21, I was able to turn my life around, lived on my own, got a social circle, got some tail, and so on. But then I turned to substance abuse because I became so scared of that diagnosis that any "imperfection" I experienced whether I got into it with people or played like chit at a video game, made me think it was the result of it. So I just abused to fix it, and all it did was make me worse. Here I am now, and I have even bigger health issues than I ever had. I'm far from those supreme stages but I can't even get back on my feet again because I feel like I'm going through hell, and can only occasionally enjoy myself.

My experiences are probably not that bad compared to a lot of people here

Shoulder dislocation, didn't get surgery so every time I play any sport (grappling and muay thai mainly) I fear it might pop back out, which hasn't happened in a year thank god...

Severe addiction to weed, pretty much ruined my social life.. Makes me ok with staying at home doing nothing. Been trying to quit for ages but my brain is fuked..

Also got arrested once, the experience itself wasn't that bad but the disappointment from my parents was

I guess my biggest downfall is that I can take little things too personal sometimes. High school was sh!tty. Otherwise nothing as dramatic as most posts here.
I truly hope that those of you going through hard times find comfort very soon. Although you all are strangers to me, I hate to hear such struggles, especially with depression.
I am a father of 2 young kids, and to hear about broken relationships between your parents really makes me realize how NOW is the time to instill as much love and involvement as I can. Again, I hope you all heal quickly, emotionally and physically.

I tore my ACL, MCL, PCL, and Meniscus my freshman year of HS. I had a really break out year in the eighth grade for some reason playing lacrosse, and was going to be a starter on the varsity as a freshman, forced me out for the season.

I think it really killed a lot of my athleticism, I wasnt the same athlete until my Junior year. I Committed to a D1 school and really thought everything was going to be fine, I was a little off, but I really thought I was at 95% or better and things were going really good. It had all turned around from that 9 month recovery and brutal sophomore season.

And then, as I was transitioning into the starting position again finnnnnnally, I tore my hamstring off the bone. It rolled up in the back of my leg. I was still able to play, but I was severely impeded, and every time I sprinted, the injury would be aggravated, an would frequently pull or tear the muscle again.

I got to my college, re-tore it, and was out for the first 2 months of the off season. Came back for a single practice to find out they had decided to waive me for the year and release me from the team. Told me "we dont know if you'll ever be healthy" despite being one of the top recruits in my class pre-injury. They were right though honestly, My leg has never been the same. It operates at about 50% capacity at best. Theres a large deformity around it. Still was pretty heart breaking though.

Deem feels. I sure as fuk was never good enough at anything to be a D1 athlete (miring hard as fuk) my bicep and acl tears and operations have left me with less than 100 percent that's for damn sure. It's depressing as fuk
