Dude it infuriates me. They have all the control and almost always seem to abuse it IMO. A lot of times if they're in the wrong they will make up some BS to force you to make a deal when it goes to court. The only recourse anyone really has is either A) Rich B) media attention.

A coworker of mine had her son locked up for a year and a half because his girlfriend said he hit her. No evidence ... nothing. Small town where she lived ... and slow as hell court process.

The worst thing now days is there are so many laws on the books that they can get you for anything if they want.

About 6 years later he was doing a training drill and was shot and crippled by a fellow officer, he's still in a wheelchair today. He tried to friend me on FB which I find really odd.
I just noticed in my post that you quoted I accidentally said two months of parole instead of two years. If there's one thing I've learned from miscing it's that details are everything. Otherwise you get called out for frauding. So I edited it.

State's attorneys keep their jobs because of their incarceration rates, not for keeping criminals off the streets. Poor people cant afford attorneys and get stuck with public defenders. PDs work for the state and in tandem with the DA in order to get a plea a bargain, not to defend the innocent. And don't get me started on cops.

Traffic court is the worst. Talk about taking advantage of the poor... almost 80% of the people i see there look like they don't even have $5 to their name. I always get a lawyer and watch my case get instantly dismissed, but the vast majority of people get it in the arse and are put on some payment plan.

I remember traffic court. Three hours of waiting for them just to get to your case because they have so many possession and paraphernalia charges to process. Can you imagine what a breeze traffic court would be if they legalized certain substances? I've never even used before but any dope should be able to see the benefits to our judicial system.

If you're driving around on a suspended license with a broken windshield and not using your turning signals you're not a "victim of a police state."

Hahaha, I read a news article last week about 200 new state laws that went into effect today. They ought to pass a law restricting the amount of laws they can pass.

And legally requiring insurance is a debatable topic. Not one that I personally would debate. But the debate exists.

Last i checked the federal criminal code was 30,000+ pages. That's just federal. That's ridiculous.

if its that far in southern illinois then im not surprised. I lived in southwestern indiana for 4 years but knew a lot of people scattered all over southern illinois. The "justice system" in that part of the state is seriously like the good ol' boy network that you described
