I'm all for capitalism but there has to be a better way. Obviously there has to be some incentive but that's just a joke. Not everyone can be a CEO.

lmao I have that respect for Warren Buffett after reading somewhere that he reads around 600-1000 pages or books, articles, etc, every day since he was younger, guarantee no one on the misc even does half of that or a quarter of that a day

I only lasted 2 hours man. I was seated next to an obese man and his grossly fat daughter.

I had to get out of there so only got to listen to a fraction of his sermon. He was on for 12 hrs in total.

Yeah I wouldn't want communism/socialism. I don't believe everyone should be paid the same. We're not robots. I think our biggest problem is over-population.

While they do have extreme wealth, I think one of the more significant topics that could be brought up from this fact is the fact that so many countries around the world are set up so poorly they can't provide a decent lifestyle.


As in, why is there much poverty around the world? It's government structure and corruption. It's not these 8 guys. Stats can seem deceiving.

Almost any one of you in this thread who live in the US are probably more rich than the worlds bottom 500 million people combined. That makes it sound like you're extremely greedy and should spread your wealth right? No, it's because there are 7 billion people on this planet and most countries aren't put together well.

Also their estimated NET WORTH is billions. that means the companies they own are estimated to be worth those billions of dollars, not that they have billions of dollars in cash. if they decided to sell all their shares in their companies they would maybe have that money

can someone explain to me where the tycoon's of america's money went?

they monopolized like every industry.

the 8 or so families had a stranglehold on everything.

what im saying is, its like now how its so hard to get started. people at the top not only want to stay at the top, but want to keep you from attaining the top.

so, did they really let all of these people usurp them in wealth?

if you're controlling the jobs and you have no choice but to be hired by them for the aforementioned reasons (they got into ground level before you) did they really just let their money disappear?

More than 32% were upper middle income, in other words almost 9/10 of Americans had a standard of living that was above the global middle income standard. Only 7% of the people in the united states were middle income, 3% low income and 2% poor. The reason investors make more profits than those who do the work is because the investor takes the risk necessary in order to create a profit margin with which to pay those people.
