Prevention is better than cure. Jail turns petty criminals into more serious ones. It's part of the problem in that it makes people worse than they are when they go in. This guy was too far gone by the time they stopped him today. He won't be getting out any time soon, if ever.

Yes - a single witness thought they heard him shouting allahu akbar while he was driving his car

On the other hand:
- The police have said this was not a terrorist act
- The perpetrator had a history of violence, drug and alcohol problems
- He was doing burnouts outside of Flinders St station first (does that sound like something a terrorist would do?)
- Read his ******** posts on the previous page - looks like he has been under the influence of drugs

This could always change as more facts come in, but at this stage it looks like this scumbag is just a drugged-up crackhead who should have already been put in prison

Yes but when he was doing the donuts it just proved how useless the cops were with guns when there is a vehicle. They won't shoot because their aim is terrible. There was a case here in Sydney where they fired on someone from a few feet away and missed. Hitting three bystanders.
