"Sometimes it's scarier to be Clark Kent than it is to be Superman"
I've dealt with mental illness for my entire life and have recently gotten worse. I used to hide it all and act like everything was ok and simple to cure. I refused meds and help. Now I have taken advantage of support groups, my friends and family. I went to the psych ward to get help and feel confident in getting better. Its a race that can never be one, but I can find the silver lining in my illnesses black cloud.

Can I recommend that any male requiring a psychologists help see a male psychologist.
I cant believe a woman can be as good a psychologist for a male patient as a male psychologist.

They are all women.
I would be a little concerned of female bias/what is considered normal or acceptable by female standards.
There are plenty of healthy hobbies that are typically male hobbies. MMA could be a good example. A female psychologist probably isn't going to understand that.
Dont get me wrong. Not saying male alone makes someone a better psychologist.
You will need maybe a few visits to get a feel for the psychologist and decide if you're a good fit.
But a male will understand male motivations better I have to believe.
(Cucked male psychologist obviously not, hence my point about deciding if you're a good fit).

men don't make big scenes when it comes to mental health a guy will go for help when he feels like he has no other choice. Women on the other hand will have 1 bad day and they go and say they're depressed and need pills

Because men have such a big ego and don't want to be seen as weak. Women talk openly about their problems ( which is very helpful) . Men tend to keep their problems to themselves and go cry in their room. I've never told anyone that I was feeling depressed , not even my mother. I always have my fake smile on. that's why I'm more likely to die of suicide compared to my sister.

My comment isn't directly pertaining to men or women but mental health in general the exposure it's gets is so pathetic most people who are not sad all the time or whatever may not be phucked in the head but that doesn't mean their mental health is alright I see many people men & women who do alright they are able to regulate their emotions etc but you can just tell they're a shell of who they could be if they had a truly great mindset coupled with impressive mental health

there's not much u can do against suicide except attacking the roots. there isn't really a solution to nation-wide suicide itself.
i think one of the major things people overlooked about obama is that he had thought about people more than they give him credit for. he talked about suicide in his legal gay marriage, anti-bullying campaigns, he was for an anti-suicide when he signed the clay hunt act as well.

The Affordable Care Act provides the largest expansion of mental health coverage in a generation, and it has helped increase access to quality, affordable health insurance for all Americans. The Act prohibits insurers from discriminating against people based on pre-existing conditions like depression, expands mental health and substance use disorder parity policies to more than 60 million Americans, and requires that Health Insurance Marketplace plans cover mental health and substance use disorder services. Additionally, my Administration proposed a new $500 million investment to increase access to mental health care. And because more than 20,000 Americans each year take their own lives with a firearm, we must do all we can to ensure people who need help get it and improve gun safety technology that can help prevent suicides.
...
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim September 10, 2016, as World Suicide Prevention Day. I call upon citizens, government agencies, organizations, health care providers, and research institutions to raise awareness of the mental health resources and support services available in their communities and encourage all those in need to seek the care and treatment necessary for a long and healthy life.
this chit just flies past people's heads unfortunately....

I think there has been more talk about it recently. The problem is that men have to open up too. No one will know you are suffering if you keep it bottled up.

Erosion of the importance of the family unit and big pharma
Big pharma and their behavioral specialists/therapists/etc pawns honestly lack integrity. Without a proper diagnosis patients will immediately be thrown on all sorts of meds
Nonethleless, a good father and mother who raise their son properly is probably the most important factor in mental health for anyone

I agree it's not fair, and its heard of way too often where a male falls victim to it and everyone is shocked cause he'd never expressed any form of battling whatsoever

Does that look like it is designed for men to you?
Also take heforshe which in its manifesto talks about getting rid of clinics for men completely (even though there are tons of female only ones already) and you can see how no one cares about men.
"Meanwhile, in Watsons native England, activists from womens organizations recently blamed the shortage of services for abused women on efforts to accommodate abused men (despite the fact that, as Guardian columnist and blogger Ally Fogg demonstrated, even the lowest estimates of the prevalence of domestic violence against men suggest that male victims are far less likely than women to get help)."

Because men don't have special interest groups. Much like politicians don't listen to youth, we don't have an AARP for youth.
Create a lobbying group or awareness group to raise awareness.
