It's also been proven that on average, someone with a bachelors will make 1M over a lifetime than someone with only a high school diploma. I'll play the numbers and get my engineering degree.

And I won't dispute real world data, that information exists for a reason. Generally someone with less education will either be because of maybe less ambition and desire to achieve a lot with their career, or something to that effect. BUT while that may be true for the most part, there are certainly exceptions. I would never tell someone that they shouldn't go to school and will be better off for it, I will simply advise that there are many paths to the same destination.
