I'd say there are some cultural factors that play into that as well but I've never been to AUS so I honestly do not have a dog in a VS thread fight. I just like to think I know how to live a (relatively) successful life in the US.

I notice you also post contract jobs with a wild range, I showed you take home from 2 year ago. Probably closer to $300k today. If I go contractor it's $200 per hour plus double time for anything over 8hrs in the day. No wonder your country is chit, dem Aussie poverty wages and benefits.
