Can't imagine the amount of NDs that would happen if there was no safety on the new pistol which you know everyone will be playing and waving around with as soon as they come in.
Of course not. It's only bad when Trump does it.

From what I read, the external safety wasn't an initial requirement, but I seriously can't imagine that that wasn't ultimately the deciding factor. Average soldiers are just too retarded, apparently. If the external safety wasn't a factor, then why did Sig make one specifically with an external safety for the Army trials? Just doesn't make sense otherwise.

When we were on our way home from Afghanistan, we were on a large base waiting to catch a bird to a larger base, you know how the process goes. Anyway, the unit that was stationed at that base didn't walk around with loaded weapons, I guess the base was big enough to not be attacked. One pog platoon was returning from outside the wire and someone NDed with his M9 into a soldier's neck and killed him. I agree with you that big Army needs external safeties on their handguns. Until everyone gets much more training on the sidearms, it's probably not the best idea.

The ironic thing is, minus SOF, the majority of soldiers that carry handguns are the least likely to use them. Never understood that.

I'll take the sound of forced induction, especially the whine of a supercharger over cam lope, but not by much. I prefer both at the same time.

Went and picked up my xds9 today. Finally a gun in the house after talking about it for years. Bought 200 rounds of regular ammo for the range and 20 hollow points for home.

I'm assuming I should clean the gun before I shoot it?

It's a good idea to field strip, quick inspect, and make sure it has some lube. For some you may want to (and manual may say to) clean off protective/anti-oxidant stuff from the gun (made to preserve, not made to lubricate). Many firearms can be shot right out of the box just fine but I think most experienced people would rather take a look inside and make sure it's properly lubed first.

What kind of upgrades? From what I've been reading, the extractors need to be swapped out and the chambers fluff n buffed from the factory. All in all, those are pretty small mods.

My 590 had a problem with light strikes. That to me makes it a no-go right off the bat. Failing to extract would be another no-go on a pump gun but if it's fixable with a few parts, NP. Looking at this one for versatility (shooting things for funsies in current configuration...add barrels for bird/deer hunting...leave at GFs house maybe...who knows).

Already field stripped and checked it out as soon as I got home and everything looked good. Might lube it up anyway, but good info

I drive a slow ass lifted ranger with 33x12.5s to make it even slower and drive my supercharged LS1 GTO about 1000 miles a year. Used to drive it all the time, but barely ever drive it cause it's a black car and I never have time to clean it. Too embarrassed to drive it dirty

Depends on who has a decent price . . . usually online. SGammo, PSA, Target Sports, Natchez, etc. You can use sites like ammoseek.com to try and find decent prices on the ammo you are looking for.

EDIT: Location: NY . . . you may not have the same flexibility.

Fuark. That sucks about the guy getting killed by the ND, but I can 100% see that happening. We had idiots in my platoon playing with the M9's all the time "Don't worry it's not loaded" without actually checking to see if it wasn't loaded, not to mention just being unsafe in general breaking every rule of firearm handling.

And yeah we/I had 0 military sidearm training the whole time I was in the infantry until I got attached to a MP company. Prior to that, I literally had more range time with the AK-47 and RPG-7. The fact that we never trained with the M9 and then suddenly had a few going around the platoon during deployment meant that was the "fun toy" gun everyone wanted to play with.

If you are patient, you can sometimes find new 9mm brass for 19 - 20 cents/rd shipped. Some sites will do free or reduced shipping from time to time. I very rarely find better local deals compared to online, but YMMV.

Yeah, it was fuked up.

We only had two M9s issued per platoon and they went to the two 240 gunners. No one else had one. However, when there was an M9 range, the entire platoon/company went and we all shot and qualified with them. I always liked that even though it may not have been absolutely necessary since we only had two per platoon, but better to be proficient with all systems. Same went for all the weapon systems though. Everyone attended most 240 ranges, although the 240 gunners did their own additional specific ranges as well.

I agree completely.

But I thought MFC was pro-immigration and for open borders. Serious.

A while back (many months) I said I was against immigration generally, and that people should be let in only if strict requirements were met. Like they could demonstrate that they would strengthen the economy (they had a solid education or net worth) or they would enhance national security (like enlist). No getting in based just on family/relatives or refugee claims.

I got a ton of push-back. I think only Moe said anything in agreement.

Is MFC is on the America First wagon now?

Friend's nephew killed someone last night. Worst wreck I've ever seen. They pulled him out from under his car. His forehead and one ear are gone. He's in his third reconstructive surgery right now and the cops have already charged him.

Multiple lives ruined over a fuking car crash. This is why I hate being out on the road late at night, even in an uber like we were last night.

Be careful and tell your kids to be careful.

fck man, that sucks. Makes me feel like I stopped "partying" and being about that going out late night, just in time.
Are you not entertained?
