Performing live on a stage does take far more talent than playing something from speakers that has been created, however there are different forms of talent as someone in this thread said earlier.

But it is undeniable that producing and mixing a high quality EDM track is more difficult than mixing a rock, metal, or classic rock song.

Reasons being, live performances will rarely have more than 5-8 instruments being used at once (Vocalist, Drummer, Bassist, Guitarist, Back-up Guitar, Back-up Bass, Pianist/Synthesizer?). EDM tracks can have over 100 different sounds and instruments being mixed.

Uh you do realize the performer isn't actually the person mixing right?

That's being done by the sound guy.

Strong ignorance to sweep an entire genre like that. I have a lot of respect for producers/composers that write their own music, regardless if it's classical music or electronic dance music. In addition, here are many in the EDM genre that actually do live sets.

But moreover and probably most importantly, you're a ******* for caring about how other people spend their time.

Even more cringe is a grown man going to those and proposing to his half naked sloot GF, while a bunch of MISCers chant "Das it" like a bunch of autists in the back ground...and then gets divorced 6 months later.

The crazy homeless dude on the street corner peaks everyday when he lights up his crack pipe too.

Hippies -- the 1960s druggies -- thought they were cool too. Until they started dropping dead like flies around 25-30, and the survivors developing debilitating, psychotic mental illnesses and the lucky ones ending up as pathetic drug addicts.

Edit: I'm 29 and saw all that stuff happen to my circle of friends that were into EDM and music festivals. A few made it big and are rich, several are dead, many of them are crazy thinking the aliens are speaking to them through their teeth, and a ton of them are now the homeless dude on the street corner asking for change to buy drugs, or feeling like they have the flu or the shakes until they get their morning injection of heroin they need to get to work at Starbucks or McDonalds.

It's fun when you're 20 but your body and mind can only do that for a few years before they break.

If you're into EDM, you're surrounding yourself with losers and will probably end up being a loser, even if you're objectively doing ok now. All those dead people, crazy people, and drug addicts were doing objectively OK at 20 -- in good colleges with good GPAs -- now they're not.

pretty intense post

I'm insanely careful when I deal with substances. I listen to EDM every day, but I'll go to a festival maybe once a year, and it'll be a great time, and Ill enjoy the experience for what it is, but as far as my actual life is concerned, I'm definitely in tune with my own reality and what I value.

I appreciate the wisdom

It's a ****ing festival, not a concert.

I do love EDM, I don't go for the music unless it's Deadmau5 or something (and what he does on stage takes unbelievable amounts of skill, he's no Steve Aoki or Garrix who does nothing).

I go to have a good time with friends and also for the girls, while OP stays home and jacks off.

inb4 I have a chit taste in music. I like every genre, listening to Mozart rn

Been to hip hop, metal, and edm events. EDM was the most fun and got random girls numbers. Great eye candy. Lol at dudes that feel they're tough to go. Its an actual sausage fest at metal concerts with dudes taking their shirts off and shoving each other at metal concerts but we're all there for the music.
