No getting in based just on family/relatives or refugee claims.

its always been this way as far as I know. when you have a bunch of unskilled nobody's that can't contribute to American society whatsoever as they can barely wipe their own ass, that's problematic for the country. What blows my mind is that there's a ton of immigrants that legitimately do love this nation, they're crying tears of joy at their citizenship ceremonies etc etc and would go to the ends of the earth to gain American citizenship. Yet there's naturally born Americans that wipe their ass with our flag and claim America is the worst country on earth. Doesn't make any sense.

This. As someone who has done purchasing with the DoD I can tell you that it almost always comes down to price. Rarely are they actually purchasing the BEST product.

I'm not quite that extreme, but I do think that every single immigrant should be vetted, to some extent anyway. Profiling should be in full effect.

And I don't get how we know there are illegal (oh excuse me, I mean "undocumented") immigrants here, and we don't do a ****ing thing about it. Illegals should be deported, immediately.

Those people should be sent to ****lia for two years with the Peace Corps, then they can come back and complain about the USA all they want. People have no ****ing perspective in life, they just bitch.

I still think everyone should be required to serve two years in the military or two years in the Peace Corps after high school, mandatory. No college exemptions or any of that ****. If you want to go to college, you go after.

Damn . . . that's never good. Alcohol involved?

My son is still freaked out about driving after he totaled the car in Dec. He's only gotten behind the wheel a handful of times, with me pushing him to get back on the horse with some short drives. All in all, that situation turned out about as "good" as it possibly could have--outside of the car being gone and insurance going up. Nobody was hurt, no ticket, etc. But we've had several discussions with him and his sister around just how easily that could have been a worst-case scenario . . . all from just being a little cocky and not paying attention.

Driving is dangerous . . . roads are full of people who aren't physically and mentally focused on what they are doing . . . and some who think driving is a zero-sum game.

I'm not anti-immigration at all . . . the country was founded on people coming from all over for a better life. Still should be that way. But this isn't the frontier days when there was a new country to fill or post-multi-world-war where there were massive disruptions to huge swaths of the world. Come herelegallybased on the rules we have set--every country has the right/obligation to set limits on how many people it will take in and support. Play by the rules or GTFO. Not everyone gets to come here. Deal with it.

The notion that by enforcing restrictions around immigration (much less just enforcing the cotdayum law) is somehow antithetical to "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses" is just potato. And the open borders, there-are-no-illegal-people crowd are just full-on retarded.

The perspective thing is so freaking true. American society is so soft now it's pathetic.

Unfortunately sometimes it takes an accident to get kids to see the consequences of driving recklessly. I had a wreck just a few months after getting my license and it took me a few weeks to get comfortable behind the wheel again. Scared the chit out of me but luckily no one was hurt and I still give more than enough room between the car in front and me to this day.

Yeah Taf I thought about your situation, your kid really did get lucky I guess.

He is 23, charged with involuntary death by vehicle but that may get upgraded after toxicology results. We don't know what happened yet but cars don't disintegrate like that unless someone did something really stupid.

Good reminder to get a freaking dashcam! They are cheap and easy to install . . . and with all the bad/aggressive/drunk/etc drivers out there, the ability to have a video of any issues is huge.

I know the topic comes up periodically and it came up again recently. But do yourself a favor and get one sooner rather than later.

I had front and rear dash cams in my car when I got hit in November. It was nice to have absolute proof of liability on the other driver. All my friends thought I was paranoid until I got smacked.

I still haven't figured out my hard wiring situation on this new car. I need to get that done.

I'm sure there will be an interesting mix of dress there

I would just wear something normal, jeans and a collared shirt, either a pull over or button down depending on the weather

Cheapest I have found are at Ammunition Depot. $33-34 ish. Keep in mind P250 mags are the same as P320.

Fuk that sucks... sounds like he was speeding and not wearing a seatbelt, amazing he's even alive. Hopefully it doesn't turn out that he was drunk. Car crashes are the #1 killer of young people, blew my mind when I first heard that stat. Lost one friend at 18 y/o to a M5 on a twisty back road that he wrapped around a tree, almost got snuffed out myself as a passenger in a wreck, took a year for my neck to heal since the car didn't have an airbag on my side. Little mistake in slippery conditions and we ended up flying over a creek and nose diving into the opposite hill then hitting a tree while flipping upside down. Chit can go wrong so quickly.

Still waiting to hear back on what that aesthetic shotty on the previous page is...
