Also, if it was so clear, then why did she never speak up about it? She needs to take ownership of that, too.

Poor communication will kill even the best of relationships.
I think what she meant is overall, I am a selfish person. I definitely made it clear that I cared about her.

There were a number of things that she never ever brought up and I told her that and she agreed there was no communication of it. Some of it even made it feel like she was faking it during the relationship, like I dont see how we had the time that we have if she believed some of things she told me last night.

Like she said it always felt more like a friendship to her which I dont understand at all

No , I mean that it IS true that I mainly care about myself, I am selfish, and I dont have a problem with her noticing that. I always want that to be clear that I'm number one for myself.

I dont think she meant that I didnt care about her, it was obvious that I did I think she more so meant that I'm a selfish person which is true

I can't give you constructive criticism unless you tell us the deets James.

All I can say at this point is learn from your mistakes in this relationship and correct them for the next one.

You seem proud of the fact that you are selfish. This is not good. You should work on this and atleast try not to show you are selfish.

Going to that show together will not make this easier for you brah. You need to tune her out.

I had a chat on the phone late last night with James and he seems perfectly fine. He's in a pretty good frame of mind presently so I don't think going to the show will bother him. He just has to learn to tune out what she says about him that's even remotely critical because it's clear that this chick has no idea what she's doing and is trying to "win" over James in passive aggressive ways.

. Thanks nedo , some of the other reasons she gave were that we just disagreed on a ton of stuff generally that comes down to different values. That was the most true thing she said and fundamental to who we are was people, and I knew that it just didn't impact how much fun we had together so I didn't think it mattered.

At the end of the day, she made it sound like she never really viewed it as that serious, and it's not consistent with how it actually went in my opinion. I talked with Vick about it last night. I have no idea what I didn't do, I think it' s just how she felt about which she never mentioned. One thing that is true, I looked up the definition of "exclusively dating" vs an actual relationship and I can see how what we were doing sounds more like exclusively dating than an actual relationship if that makes sense?

I don't feel bad at all, I feel pretty good. We talked about it and we don't see a reason why we can't leave things open to do stuff like go see a play in the future. There's just no reason not to, it's not like I'm going to try to get back with her. It's done and I feel totally fine with that now, I don't think I'm going to miss anything as much as I thought. Only thing I know I'll miss is having someone to do stuff with every weekend, but most of that could be replaced by a friend or something, even her as a friend I don't see the problem.

I got the sexual and dating experience that I wanted. Really not sure where I go from here. I don't know if I even will.pursue again. I might be satisfied for life that would be awesome I can move on

In terms of the selfishness thing, what's the problem? That's who I am and who I want to be why I would I change?

Unfortunately that's all horse**** in practice, it took me a lot of experience, experimenting and practice to understand that and why it is like it is.

I won't delve too far into the theory, but you need to ask yourself a simple question - who benefits most from that kind of behaviour or advice?

Hint: The answers are revealed in Daisy's posts (this is not a dig at her); women want to know compatibility and suitability quickly. They don't want to waste time on a guy so therefore it benefits women to have everything out in the open to allow fast decisions on who they do and don't want. The problem is most of their selection criteria are unrealistic when they are not in the heat of the moment.

So, speaking purely on the meeting and attracting girls side, you've got to realize that it is all a game. Those who win are those who play skillfully, which means there are tactics and strategies that are reliable in providing positive results.

Think of it as understanding what makes the game fun for women - it's mystery, it's humour that are the most thrilling things for them. It's a game where the prize is you, women actually want to win you, the thing that turns them on and gets them excited (though I doubt any will admit it) is the thrill of beating other women to unwrap and explore this mystery prize.

You need to realize that women are hit on all the time and that 90% of those approaches are boring, the guy who is different or fun or has a 6-pack is the one that peaks her interest.

If no one else is playing for you and everything about you is on display after the first hand of the card game then the motivation and thrill is gone.

That's the best advice I can give you: don't take it personally, realize there are lots of women out there and understand that almost everything mainstream society tells you about how to attract women is BS.

Maintaining a relationship is a whole different area though....
basically, Men are all just a bunch of peacocks swaying their feathers in attempts to attract women, who passively sit there and just pick. Just like the animal kingdom.

I used to have a job where I spent a lot of time with athletes providing security and other services like transportation and such when they were here in town to do events with our company. It was a cool job. Stammer was cool, I tried to get him to come out with me that night but he had other plans.

I have a pic of Gordie Howe and myself on my other computer. It's an awesome picture actually, I'll post it here later if I remember. I was also a goalie for 3 years or so.

word!

Thats awesome brother..I used to have a friend who would get tickets to the old maple leaf gardens, box seats, and dinner at the satellite Hotstove Lounge where all the players hung out after the game. I'll never forget being 12 years old dressed in a suit there when Don Cherry came up to my Pops and told him my brother and myself were looking sharp and took a picture with us! Lifetime memory

Nailed it...which is why I agreed to disagree with him. I see things the same way as you...to me, a 'sh!t test' is asking something like,'Does this line work on all the other girls you ask out? hehe', not asking someone why they did what they did in a better attempt to understand them/the sitch. I've never felt the need to 'test' the guy I'm seeing because he's been honest, direct and authentic from the start....what you see is what you get with him!

Is this really a gender thing tho? Both Luc1er and meenman mentioned they cut to the chase pretty quickly as well and don't waste time. Beyond gender, age/maturity probably plays a role in how quickly people determine potential or not.

So I have thought about it for a while, and I think I have figured out what my problem is and why I feel so fuucking strange lately. We get a sunny day once every 10 days or so here, and I truly think the lack of vitamin D has really been kicking my ass. It makes sense. I have been in such a fuucking strange rut since November or so and I just feel weak and unenthusiastic. I am going to start supplementing with vitamin D and I hope that gives me the changes I am searching for. I'm not one of those people that uses the popular "seasonal affective disorder" as a cop-out to not feeling energized in the winter (which has become popular as fuuck lately,) however I think that may have a hand in why I just don't give a fuuck about anything.

I am going to pick up some vitamin D today. I'm sure by the time I head to California in a few weeks I'll be good as new.

In other news, I have decided to hop back onto online dating. I am doing it to energize my log a little bit and show how I do things. I am using OKC primarily. I made my profile the other day and I started talking to someone who looks pretty good. I will post the chat log and her pics later on. Hopefully they can provide a helpful lesson on my process and how to get from the opening message to the number.

It's my moms birthday, which is always weird.

Otaku is using my pictures on Tinder. Guess we will see where that goes.

I'm actually growing a beard. It looks like pure shiit.

My hair is now bun-able. I need to fix these things ASAP. I look homeless.

Here is a great song I've been listening to a lot over the last day or so that I'd like to share:

S'all I got.

Ahhh I just noticed this the other day, as well [same kinda climate]. It was a rare, super sunny day and I had completely forgotten the immensely positive effect that has on your mental well-being! Hopefully the vit D has an energizing effect ASAP for you

It is a gender thing that goes back to sexual selection in evolution and women's dual selection method. Without dropping too much evolutionary psychology theory etc. it's the selection choice between good male providers and good male risk takers.

When a woman is screening a man for a relationship, the ideal candidate is that exciting alpha guy who's also loaded and can look after her and any children. That's the optimal strategy, however if she can't secure that then the second best option is to have the alpha's child raised by the beta....

When a man screens a woman he's screening for a relationship - i.e. do i think this woman is into me enough and honest enough that she won't cheat and leave me raising another man's child. This is even more important to assess in light of the current draconian divorce and child support laws in the western world which massively penalize men.

It's in a man's best interest to confuse this evaluation in order to encourage the woman to be involved and faithful in the relationship, to display those exciting traits that women find attractive and signal he's a prize.

So when I make these recommendations to a guy, it's ultimately to stop them from becoming that secondary option, the man raising another man's child for 18 years and to give them the best shot at making sure any woman they get with finds them interesting enough to be faithful.

Yeah, we had some sun this morning and some on Monday and I realized just how important it was. I felt amazing and like I had no problems. Now it's grey again and I don't feel as great. This has been a recurring theme all winter now and definitely has been present over the past few years. It's no longer something I consider to be a coincidence so I need to address it now.

And it's weird. It doesn't really fit me so all of my hair is kinda just plopped over on my head currently. My head just isn't the right shape for a bun IMO. I usually am always wearing a hat if I'm not at work so it looks better when I have a hat on.

Vick: coming from someone who once had low vitamin D prior to supplementation: I don't think you will feel better from it. I felt the same mood wise, but it never hurts given how essential it is. It is a natural form of anti-biotic just to name one of the benefits. I'm on 8000 IU/day and my blood work recently came in at 214 (top range is 250) so I'm on point. I believe it also contributed toward my increased test levels too, cheah natural juice. Disregard what the bottle says (1000 to 2000 IU/day) and get in like 5000 IU for a guy your size. Also, make sure it is liquid drops as pills don't absorb as well and take it with some kind of fat for better absorption, unless it specifies on the bottle that it is emulsified. I am OCD so I take emulsified vitamin D with fish oil lol. Fish oil has mood benefits too.

If you want my opinion: you are burned out from training everyday brah. I think you said you train like 2+ hrs too. Know that training beyond 1 hr is just for the purpose of burning calories, but you won't see muscle gains from it as GH is only released the first hour. Your are also decreasing your test levels by training beyond 1 hr. Cut that chit down to 5 days a week IMO.

Thanks for the vitamin D advice. I think a lot of my problem has to do with the seasons because I've been training most days for over a year now and it has never been a problem before. It's strange. I mainly work out to burn calories and feel good as opposed to building muscle but I have been only going 5 days a week now for a few weeks and I am finding that I feel about the same. I think I am just thrashed from years of sports and constant heavy training, but I am learning to take my foot off of the gas a little bit so I can focus more on my diet.

I just hate the mother fuucking winter time man. I really do.

Are you eating a well balanced diet, particularly veggies??

Little things like substituting spinach for useless iceberg or romaine lettuce makes a big difference nutrients wise.

I usually eat the same things every day, however lately I have been focusing a lot more on veggies. I usually have some kind of salad most days, but I eat a lot of lettuce. I usually eat a lot of veggies in the spring and summertime because there is a farmer's market near my house that I can walk to and stock up at for cheap.

A normal day's diet for me is eggs, bread, peanut butter, some kind of white meat for dinner with a vegetable side, and a big salad with a can of some kind of bean. Tuna fish about once a week. It's been this way for years now however in summer I am able to get a wider assortment of vegetables into my diet (which I love) to eat with hummus or make wraps/salads with, etc. It's definitely something I can improve in the winter time for sure.

Finding equal senses of humor and intelligence isn't a chit test it's called making sure the are on nearly the same wavelength as you.

Survival of the fittest. You have to realize, though, that once you reach high social status, you also become a selector because women will start "peacocking" for you, too.

Get your game on, bro. It's going to change your world.

I've never felt the need to 'test' the guy I'm seeing because he's been honest, direct and authentic from the start....what you see is what you get with him!
Maybe the reason we disagree is because I'm using the term **** test too loosely and most of you associate it as something that is negative, when its a fact of social dynamics.

What I'm trying to say is we are all always **** testing each other. It's part of human nature. It's a way of finding out the truth about someone base on their (re)actions instead of words. Men do it to other men, men do it to women, women do it to other women, BUT women do it intrinsically to to a man to determine his "fitness" as a potential mate.

Tell me, daisy, Why wouldn't you just straight up say, "You waited 3 days to message me. Why are you using those stupid dating rules on me?"

You can't say that because

1.) You may be wrong, he may have a legitimate reason.
2.) You have no way of knowing if his reason is the truth because people tend to lie when they feel backed into a corner. (Fight or flight)

Thus, you form it as "test" to gauge his response. Not only can you more effectively determine if he is telling the truth, you can determine his compatibility because you know what kind of response would be favorable to you.

Fun debate.

How do you know he's being honest? Because you WANT to believe it. Be careful. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Wow, super interesting post and insights! Thanks for sharing. Love evolutionary psychology theories, so feel free to drop more knowledge on that topic.

I've taken vit D in liquid form, but the gel capsules are also great and absorb quickly into the body. I also take cod liver oil daily...supposed to have health benefits! I'm gonna try taking apple cider vinegar and see if it has any positive effects. I took it years ago but never noticed much. Might as well try again...love testing out natural health options!

Lol, because that delivery is utterly void of any tact or finesse. Come on now...we have social skillz for a reason

Lol, you're funny. I'm just gonna go by my intuition on this one. If it feels right, it probably is!

Yeah, the reason is social dynamics. You've been conditioned to know that being that direct will never get you the answer that you are looking for AND you don't want to look like an idiot.

Yeah, I took the same approach with myex-wife. Just sayin'.

When I date, I date with caution. Stay cynical my friends.

That's not true...there's a time & place for everything. I was completely direct when I asked him on our 3rd date if he was seeing anyone else, and he gave me a straight answer [he was at that point!]. However, in the hypothetical scenario of a 1st date, presenting the question of, 'so why'd you wait so long to ask me out?' shouldn't be direct because you want to maintain a lighthearted, casual banter throughout the date. Time and place, like I said!

Experience may have made you more cynical than meMy gut instinct has been pretty spot on over the years, minus one unusual circumstance. I choose to trust my judgment and internal compass. I just have this inexplicable feeling when I'm around him that things are what they appear to be; our interactions are sincere and nothing thus far has led me to question that. What he says is congruent with what he does....so I'm gonna keep the faith alive!

Nearly every single day I eat a salad with organic spinach, garlic, olive oil and apple cider vinegar incase you need an idea of how to include it into your diet. I replaced regular vinegar with apple cider vinegar about 3-4 months ago and haven't noticed any difference. But ya, as you mentioned, its supposed to have many benefits. I am consuming about 2 tablespoons a day of it, maybe its insufficient to see benefits, not sure. They say to opt for organic for the best benefits. Costco has it for cheaps if you a member there.

Dilute tea tree oil and mix it with ACV and rub that on your beard and hair once or twice a week. As for your beard growing if it's the first time it will come out patchy as fuk. Grow it out for a few months then trim it down and comb it daily. Best combs are the old school single finger circular ones. If your beard hair is coarse/pubic like use conditioner once a week...the beard oil stuff is a scam from my experience. Good luck on the bun I let my hair grow out for a 7 and 9 months and couldn't take it anymore so props to you.

I'm picking some up later today! In for potential benefits

Lmao one hilarious story about drinking ACV was back in uni...I had a cup of ACV diluted with water on my nightstand, and my bf at the time thought it was just water. Before I could warn him, he chugged it back and legit spit it right back out being like, 'WTF IS THIS SH!T?!" I was dying laughing at his reaction

Yeah, water we have here at this FOB is highly chlorinated so if you shampoo everyday good bye hair, I shampoo once a week then just ACV/TTO my hair the rest of the week.

I am currently doing the Vit D thing since last winter, 5000 IU a day and a little more in the winter, from good quality AOR drops...I don't feel any difference from it at all. In fact lately I feel run down as hell, I am up all night at work, and just can never seem to catch up on sleep even on days off. I have two vacations planned, 2 weeks in Brazil next week and then surfing in Nicaragua for a week in March. I am hoping that this "sun" will help me feel a little more rejuvenated, because lord knows the Vit D ain't doing squat

I once had long hair Vick, (I played in a metal band and still 100% metal) but cut it off for cancer years ago. Maybe grow yours out a bit and do the same? Definitely does NOT work in favour of 99% of the ladies though lol

I'm a skeptic and over-analyzer - I'm actively working to allow my feeling/emotion and intuition to carry more weight. I realize this is the opposite to most people, but I'm too extreme one way. Life is kinda sh*t when you're cynical constantly and always analyzing intentions etc - yes, it's the best way to protect yourself, but it also detracted from moments that could otherwise be enjoyable. There really is a balance here, and you may want to consider that after your experiences (with your ex-wife) you're in protective mode.

You believe that growing out a beard helps it grow better the next time? That never made sense to me, but people have said it anecdotally. I don't see how growing out hair can help it become thicker.
