Whenever I see someone walking one of those dog breeds the owner is always the same type of degenerate lower class semi-thug looking douchebag. Maybe there are exceptions, but it seems like 99.9% of all pitbull owners are low-iq chavs who think owning an aggressive dog breed somehow gives them status among their peers in the trashy trailer-park communities

Again I don't think any breed should be banned but the "pitbull" we have now is definitely a dangerous animal and it can't be disputed.

At some point we have to make a logical decision, and not one based off of emotions. And for the few (if any) owners who could unlock a pitbulls jaws, what do we do for the 110lb owner?? Do we have to have a physical assessment to determine if you can own one??No, loins can easily over power a human. It is foolish to compare a 450Lb animal to a 50lb animal.

BTW, I'm libertarian. I HATE government being in our lives where it absolutely shouldn't be. But this is for public safety. Try walking a tiger down the street on a leash, lmk what happens. Point is, either a VERY strict test, and license should be required to own one as any other dog, or, more logically, treat them as we do similarly with wild exotic animals. I'd be fine with anyone being able to own one, but you would need to keep it in a cage in your yard, or be able to walk it ONLY with proper muzzle, heavy duty restraints.
Again, I'm libertarian, but one of the FEW times the government should be involved is to protect oneself and property from others. If you leave out emotion and actually look at the facts, I think this is a reasonable solution.

Humans(fancy word for people) are born. Because we are all humans we give each other certain rights and liberties. If a human kills another human, he gets punished but he is still human so most of the time they end up in jail with said privileges (freedom is not one).
If an ANIMAL kills a human it is not blamed on the animal. It is blamed on a human that let said animal have an opportunity to attack a Human. That's why we can't own jungle cats, hyenas etc. We have a governing body that oversees safety.
And no this is only for ANIMALS. Not guns. Not sugar. Not inademant objects
That should do it
Edit because I know this is going to be your response "exactly the animal shouldn't be blamed its the owners fault!" pitbulls are naturally more aggressive, if a pitbulls attacks just like a hyena. Chances are they are going to do some damage. Statistics are not on your side on this one. That is why it should not be left up to people . just like tigers and other jungle cats shouldn't be let up to individual people

Lol yet there are tons of pitbull service dogs.
Let's take a look at it this way:
1. A majority of people look at dogs as these pets that are cute and fun, something to pet and take pictures of, and snuggle and cuddle with.
2. A majority of people also do not walk with their dog consistently, play with their dog consistently, or give their dog something to do of any substance.
3. A majority of people don't realize that a dog is usually high energy, and gets bored. Keeping it locked up all day and not doing anything with it will drive it nuts. Hence why dogs bite and chew on things, cause destruction, are considered unruly. Imagine being a child kept locked up all day, not given enough attention, and/or nothing to do besides play with a bone or a stuffed animal.
4. Dogs are typically bred for A REASON. That is why you must not only train them to be well behaved (via common sense and putting effort in training them), but you should try and get your dog involved with things to do that relate to their breed. I.E a dog like an australian shepherd should be challenged and involved in some sort of activity for which they are bred for, I.E herding. Do you know how many people keep a fukking australian shepherd locked inside all day and barely let it do anyhting? People always complain about how much energy they have, how they always destroy the house, and are annoying. Well.....fukking entertain your pet.
5. People are the problem. These are animals. Certain breeds are not at domesticated, and certain breeds are bred for particular reasons, as stated above. Would you get a german shepherd and just keep him in your house and walk him for 10 min every day? No. That is why so many dogs are in the backyard barking like crazy and are the ravaging beasts. They have no purpose. The actual purpose as to why they were bred is not being satisfied.
In conclusion, people are the issue, and are fukking idiots when it comes to dogs.

That is why my other post is the reason I believe owning a pitbull should be extremely regulated and restricted unless to the right people. Many smaller dogs are actually more vicious and aggressive, but pitbulls are one of the few breeds where their actions result is severe damage and death because of their strength. A chihuahua may be more typically aggressive and protective and bitchy, but clearly a bite from them won't do anything vs that of a pitbull

Do you blame a pitbull for killing a toddler? No. Like you said you blame the owners
Does the pitbulls get punished? Yes
Why? Because hes already a threat.
Should the risk of an owner not being able to handle a dangerous animal be eliminated so that you can significantly save lives and attacks? I say yes and for some strange reason you say no.
I dont know how to make this simpler for you. Logic, reasoning and common sense is not on your side in this debate.

There's really no way to ban them. You can make it a crime to own them but some will always get through which will continue to bread. I don't know what the answer is, but banning them won't solve the problem. Maybe it will reduce them? but it won't eliminate them

owning a pitbull = low iq
owning a pitbull = compensating for x circumstance
owning a pitbull = victim complex
(in layman's terms for the obviously uneducated peasants who actually own pitbulls (inb4 I have a bachelors in psych. LOL plz go))
owning a pitbull = you are most likely a struggling piece of sh*t who contributes nothing to society

That is why my other post is the reason I believe owning a pitbull should be extremely regulated and restricted unless to the right people. EDIT: just read second part, and can see you do understand where I'm coming from, I guess the loving great dog part was for the poster you were originally talking to.
