I've only been to a Gamestop 3 times in the past several years and every time they manage to piss me off.
Tried to buy a PS3 online years ago from them. They asked for my fukcing bank account info "for validation purposes" or something. They suggested I could email them a scanned copy of a bank statement. fukc outta here with that. Even the employees at the physical store said that seemed sketchy.
Go to a physical store to buy a PS3, buy a new copy of a game. Guy behind the counter suggests I buy a used copy for like $8 less. Would rather spend the extra cash for something I know is going to work. He keeps giving me crap for it ("Nah brah, it's guaranteed!") but I tell him I would rather buy a new copy. He opens a drawer and hands me a used copy, I ask what the fuk, he pretends like he's perplexed why a new copy is covered with scuff marks. lol retard.
Last time I went there I bought a PS3 game and they badgered me to death about signing up for some premium rewards program. Pay like $100 a year and get a 10% discount on video games. Told him no, he wouldn't take no for an answer and kept trying to talk me into it. Wouldn't gtf off it for about 5 minutes. he finally cut it out when there was a line of people behind me.
I don't buy games that often but that **** was enough for me.

There's a few reasons for it that I can tell
-New games are expensive as fukk nowadays and people are just buying less in general. Back in the day the average ps2 owner would have like 50 fukkin games. Nowadays most average people who own the new generation consoles own what, maybe 5-6 games. It's a combination of games being way more expensive and also having way more replay value now.
-People getting hooked on games like LoL and dota 2 which consumes 95% of their gaming time. Those games are highly addicting and once you're hooked on em you have no desire to really play anything else usually
-Gamestop's trade in bullshiit is a fukking rip off and everyone knows it. brb selling them a game for $3 and they turn around and sell it for $20. u wot m8
-Why go to gamestop for new/used games when there's ALWAYS a better deal somewhere else online.
These useless stores like Gamestop need to get with the times or they're going out of business. They aren't needed anymore.

There are some great games out if you don't buy the B's like CODThere are no games over that last couple of years that are awesome.
Many games, at least for Xbox are online multiplayer games, which suck because there's no story, players do not act like it's real, so they run around killing, jumping up and down, and it's so repetitive.
Or you have depressing open world games like Fallout. I read almost no one finishes these games. They are boring with no sense of mission, and so they seem cool at first, or appeal to autistic people who cannot take intensity and focus.
Game companies seemed to have given up and/or are going for making boring stuff because they sold in the past. That's great but if you make all games like that they won't appeal to a broad fan base and sales with die. When they start making games with a great story, a need for tactics, etc then sales will increase.

I was a HUGE fallout fan. I was hyped for Fallout 4 until I read there is NO multiplayer.
To this day, I haven't played Fallout 4. And that's coming from a huge fan of FO3, and New Vegas. I played those games into the ground as a kid.
Most gaming companies nowadays are just dumbasses. They are unoriginal.
There are only -2- video game companies left that I believe in :
- Rockstar (GTA Online is GOAT, and can't wait for Red Dead Redemption 2)
- Naughty Dog (Last of us 2 hnnnghhhhh)

if I had bought a digital copy, I wouldn't be able to get some money back when I'm bored with a game.

Even The Last of Us (2013) had a freaking mulitplayer mode! And that's from a MASTERPIECE of a story game, that didn't even need a MP mode to be a great game. It still had one. It was pretty good too.
You would think a 2016 Fallout game would incorporate Multiplayer in some really creative way.
Heck, I would have taken the following :
- Make it so when you are playing the single player story, anyone can join your game and play as a "RAIDER" and hunt you down
- Every player has a "RAIDER" level, with customizable weapons loadout, and a base hideout that you pick somewhere on the map. This is where you spawn every time you join someone else's single player game.
- Then you're given a map with a general location of where the Single player is at, and you gotta go there and hunt him down.....
- This adds intensity to your Single player story, because online strangers can join your world and play as a Slave Raider and hunt you down
- And it adds fun for players who like to troll and grief people doing their storyline, or people who like to Hunt other players in a big world
stuff like that.
I mean, I'd have even taken some generic Call of Duty multiplayer in which you have 2 teams and just shoot each other.

The only way I will ever buy digital games is if they pass on the savings to me and stop charging $60 for new games. Digital copies don't have to deal with manufacturing a disc, and shipping it to stores, etc. So why are they charging me the same price? until pretty recently i was all about physical copies of games for consoles, something seemed nice about having the actual disk/box etc to look at... last 2 full retail pricing games i got were digital, and im off the physical copies now. lol changing disks is such a minor, tiny inconvenience, but not needing to do it rules hard

Does anyone actually like Gamestop/EBGames? Ask any gamer and they will all tell you some bad stories about those stores, if not about their prices then about their awful, neckbeard employees. Their demise can't come soon enough.
