So, we have a gun in a quick access safe downstairs, which had been my Sig 1911. It didn't really fit well through the opening in the safe, and we'd been looking at a smaller gun as a result of this, as well as for Mrs. Ikeman to use, since her G43 is not really a great pistol for taking classes with, etc.

I take her to the exchange today fully expecting to walk out of there with a $390 Gen IV G19, because that price is ridiculous (we had discounts, etc from the already lower price). Get her in there, she tries out an "FDE" (really dog **** brown) VP9, Walther PPQ M2, Sig P320 (Compact and Full Size), G19, G17, and an M&P 9C.

She didn't like the paddle release on the VP9, but loved the PPQ. Why spend $390 on a gun you don't like when you can spend $590 on one you do?

Tried shipping a pistol to the manufacturer for repairs using the USPS and when I told the lady what was in the box, she started freaking out and got real ****ty with me about it. **** them.

UPS is all I've used since then for buying and selling. Cheap and effective with no hassle.

I remember the first time I handled a P99 and fell in love immediately but couldn't bring myself to pay that much at the time. I've been seriously considering PPQ M2 just for the hell of it, just need to get to my LGS to fondle one.

"Mil Spec" is actually "Mil Diameter" and refers to the size/cut of the receiver extension.

The stocks have various feature difference.

The MOE stock is very basic, and only has a sling loop for attaching a sling. There are no QD sockets.

The CTR is an upgraded MOE. It includes a friction lock to reduce wobble in the stock, as well as QD sockets.

The ACS-L features a cut-down design, storage in the stock itself, friction locks, and QD sockets.

A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state.Handguns are not mailable. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. A nonlicensee may not transfer any firearm to a nonlicensed resident of another state. The Postal Service recommends that longguns be sent by registered mail and that no marking of any kind which would indicate the nature of the contents be placed on the outside of any parcel containing firearms.

If it is a rifle lower, you can (ship it to an FFL in the US).

If it is a handgun, you cannot (ship it USPS)

I don't think so. I know manufacturers don't have to [return ship to a local FFL] when you ship a firearm to them for something and then get it or a replacement shipped back [directly to you]

In.

Currently deciding on my first CCW/EDC/SHTF what ever else handgun. Maybe someone could chime in please.

Glock 19 - Glock 23 - Sig p320 Carry 9mm - Sig p320 Carry 40 S&W ( I know about the kits as well. )

Yes I know the whole debate about the ammo. I suppose a +p or +p+ hollow point round (if +p+ is available, not sure, just learning) and the right grain in 9mm would be better than the 40S&W but then what about the 40 in that type of ammo as well? Any ideas here would be great thanks.

EDIT: Hope I'm not coring any lines here with this question.

Go to a range. Try out:

G19 Gen IV
G26 Gen IV
M&P 9C
M&P 9
Walther PPQ M2
H&K VP9
Sig P320

Pick the one you like the best. Disregard 40 S&W.

Thank you. Pretty much what I had been looking through. I had been up all night watching review after review and even torture testing videos. Which I'm sure myself nor my gun would be in a environment like that but you never know. And everything but the G26 was in mind for sure. I think the 26 is a bit small after taking a look just now but the others are very nice. Especially the H&K with the amount of grips to really conform it to your hand.

Again thanks for the reply.

Glock 19

The ones Ike listed are all solid.

But, first, Glock 19 unless you have a specific reasonnotto (like, the hipster necessity not to have what everybody else has)

1 hour til home, get joocy, and play with the tactical doge. Found a new fav IPA last night walking down the beer aisle. How the hell am I supposed to not buy beer when the case has a husky with ice blue eyes staring a hole through me?

I need to order a TLR-6 for my G43. Totally spoiled carrying a G19 with a TLR1 for EDC. Having night sights and a light on the weapon is a really awesome thing to have, especially in winter time when I spend a lot of time out at dusk/dawn.

By the way, the wife is starting to feel kicks. PLEASE DEAR GOD BE A BOY

Got my bag in the garage, got my new gloves... feels good to throw some leather again.
