All about manipulating the big 3. Volume/intensity/frequency. Can't have all of them high all the time. You'll get burnt out.

My deadlift actually went up the most doing it 1x a week, and only 2 top/main sets.

that statement is more applicable to bodybuilding... strength is not the same at all

Do people not realize that weightlifters (both natty and not) do a very specific set of movements 5-7x/week?

Can you over train? sure

But if you put a decent amount of effort into recovery you are capable of a lot more intensity/volume than you would otherwise think

This is speaking from experience, not from the opinion of somebody who is natural who thinks they are qualified to discuss steroids. I've been on both ends of the spectrum, and at the end of the day, I recover slowly whether natural or unnatural, the only difference is I recover slightly faster with drugs - SLIGHTLY faster, not "over training doesn't exist!!" faster.

Again, you simply don't understand how steroids work. Lol @ "automatically adds 20 lbs of muscle in months". I don't think you realize how many people use steroids and get fuk all results. 20 lbs is SO much muscle mass.

Not hating on Pete Rubish. He's a great lifter. And he was honest about the effects of peds which I can respect. I believe my post is within the rules, if not I apologize.

Agree.
Pete Rubish is still on a TRT dose, aka still natural (TRT = natural testosterone levels).

I seen a huge difference with more rest time. I was stubborn forever and wouldn't change.

That being said. I see a lot of out of shape people use it as an excuse to basically not train.

Don't really care. It's obvious peds improve recover time from that information. It's obvious anyway, it doesn't need proof. Gaining strength (and muscle mass) is literally about your body recovering, rebuilding and adapting. Anyone that thinks peds don't improve recovery is dumb as **** or lying.

None of that disproves anything that I said, and 600 mg is not a small dose. Once again only further proving how little you know and understand about these drugs you are attempting to "inform" people about.

If youre eating heaps and sleeping plenty its hard to over train

If you're in a deficit and dont sleep then its easy to overtrain

Majority of people areunder recovered, but people tend to call itover training. Same end result, but they are different. If you're getting sufficient rest, it's pretty difficult to really "over train." But people get like 5 hours of sleep, are putting in 4-6 days of lifting + whatever other physical activity and then want to talk about being over trained...no, you're just under recovered.

Also, 3x20 deadlift? RIP and it's also doing close to jack **** to help your max, lol.

It gets riskier as you get stronger and your muscular/cns strenght/work capacity is beyond what your connective tissue can handle ---> snap city

I think arn710 told me that testosterone alone doesn't increase recovery time exactly. I think it was somewhere along the lines of your body will need a lot more calories from the increased metabolism thus resulting in increased recovery. Could be remembering it wrong but it definitely was similar to that.

You can gain weight and muscle with less calories on gear, esp depending on the compound.

Gear will increase recovery time of the muscle itself. But most compounds greatly decrease collagen production. Tendons are usually in a weakened state.

Over training is a thing. If you train very high intensity with very high frequency you will injure yourself, gear or not.

Overtraining, underrecovering, under resting, etc. They're all the same chit. The concept is training at an amount where you body does not fully recover before the next workout. The threshold for over training is affected by diet and rest. Das it.

Lol @ roid head claiming roids don't make a big difference in recovery lmao. Look up the effects on protein synthesis and nitrogen retention

Oh and there's a reason boxers and mma fighters go extremely light a week before a fight. If they don't, they tend to perform a lot worse. Let that sink in.

This lol. It's like when Mark McGwire said the drugs didn't add anything at all, as if he could still hit seventy home runs naturally. Btw I have nothing against the guys who use (at face value), it's the people who say retarded **** like that who should be called out.

I learned to use the drugs in the final six or eight weeks leading up to a major competition, wrote Schwarzenegger. They could help you win, but the advantage they gave was about the same as having a good suntan.

What a ****ing dickhead lol.

I personally only feel the effects of over training when I'm on a low cal diet. I tend to back off a bit on intensity or take a day off when I feel like I need it.

I did PPL 2x for a while. At first it was okay. And then gradually, my CNS and muscles cannot keep up... So I had to give up lifting for a while.

I think I did too many exercises each day (7) and too many days in a week (6) for a natty... And I also didn't eat a lot and rest well in some cases, but that's another story.

I think the issue of overtraining is real, but most importantly is that, do not hold yourself down in fear of "overtraining". I always laugh when I hear my friends saying how doing 6 sets of Bench Press (and that's all they do for chest) is overtraining.
