lol the article you posted is fake news. CNN tried to strike out the defamation suit brought by a guy who worked at the hospital, but this judge stated that the plaintiff had sufficient evidence so the trial should happen. the actual trial hasn't even started yet.

Funny how I can't find a story about the hospital suing, only people that worked there for reputational damage. CNN apparently reported there was a unusually high mortality rate. Was that incorrect?

Lol also those conservative reports are talking about a BIG WIN in the case which seems to be the judge denying CNNs application to have it dismissed. If the case had actually been decided against CNN I'm sure we would have heard about it

Unfortunately this started back in may and finished on Christmas with the countering disinformation and propaganda act.

This basically created a federal center that is legally allowed to "counter foreign propaganda and misinformation" and may give grants to "media outlets countering said misinformation"

Oh boo hoo the Obama administration denied FOX and a couple of other right wing sources INTERVIEWS.

Also how can everyone in this thread deny this isn't an attack on free speech. Barring media outlets that criticize you is a way to silence them due to being unable to get the information necessary in order to do so. Sure they could read about it from other sources, once it's been digested and processed by the right (who are the ones that still have access).

Essentially, this is a limitation of information to limit his criticism. May it be indirectly, this IS an attack on free speech. Lol at you guys saying otherwise just because it isn't the clear cut extreme of censorship

It's not a knock on free speech because he is not keeping them from writing what they want. If he does not seem them as legitimate news sources it's within his right to deny access into certain non public areas.

It's like if Joe shmo walked in claiming to have started the world's greatist new news source and asked for a pass to view the president. He would get denied as it would not seem legitimate.

Same thing here. If he feels some news sources are not legitimate enough than he can deny them. If you want special treatment and to get into certain non public areas you need to prove your worth to the proprietor of those areas. This is how life works in all cases.
