since about 2 years now, I've been fantasizing about getting a professional job in an office, picturing myself wearing a suit & holding a briefcase. None of this is to impress people but this is genuinely what would make me happy. I really admire the white-collar professional lifestyle and aspire to be a top dawg someday. After 2 years of working menial gigs, today I started training for a temp job in an office! The pay is absolute trash but.....

(1) I'm thankful I had a vision and at least it's coming to life a bit. This isn't permanent but I've had it on my goals list for a while. Power of positive thinking!!

(2) Dad's been saying business is slow lately but... food is still on the table, lights & hot water are still on, we still have our vehicles. I'm thankful that my necessities are met!!

(3) not a common one but I'm thankful for the misc. So much Tom foolery & ****ottry goes on here but... there are some real hidden gems!! Consider this thread as one of 'em. I've chat some really nice people in private messaging as well.

Life isn't where I want it yet but I'm really positive the future is going to be really good!!! Power of positive thinking.... next year I'll be crossing another major goal of my list!!!

Between last Thursday and today I've had 3 kids and a wife with a stomach bug. I'm grateful everyone is on the mend and I'm very grateful that I haven't gotten it yet.

Chicken and black bean casserole.

Patience. I've had an entry level position open for almost a month. Lots of terrible resumes and interviews but yesterday was the worst and I almost popped.
-didn't bring a resume to the interview not because she forgot but because she doesn't have one
-dressed for the beach not the office
-unemployed for almost a year. I asked what she'd done to better herself in that time and the response was why would I have done that
-do you have any benificial attributes you'd bring to the job? No.
-what are your pay expectations? I want to say 10 but if I'm honest at least 15/hr
Mek. What qualifications do you have to justify that rate?
Her: I don't know. Everybody makes that much now
- business is open 8-630, wants a full time position and can only work 9-4.

I thought about trying to educate her about why she wouldn't get this job and how it probably tied to her extended unemployment but I just didn't think I could be polite for it.
Come and take it.

Today I'm grateful for...
...last day of work before vacation - a week in the Caribbean.
...a wife who is forgiving about my early morning crankiness.
...my shoulder seems to be holding up. Looks like neutral grip DB presses for a while. Gives a different kind of burn, so that's fine.

I'm grateful for...

- getting to get my lifts in while at the office. Nice to sleep in a couple hours each morning.

- a boss that doesn't give a chit as long as my work is done.

- receiving kudos for almost being done with FY 17 work, already. Killed this year. Now I can pick and choose what I do.

- people trusting in me.

- the hugs and kisses from the kids. They can turn a day around in a heartbeat.
