And actually no, that's not what I want when I'm 60. I want to kick it with my wife (hopefully), kids and grandkids, and be retired and live life.
Now I can understand not wanting to risk it with women, but living the party life isn't sustainable, and you're bound to get lonely.
Yea, I hear you. What you need to keep in mind is that the ends don't necessarily justify the means. If you set out with the mentality that you 100% have to have a wife/kids to grow old with, you may make an emotional decision. You may overlook glaring flaws or obvious red flags in pursuit of the perfect family and the white pickett fence. You can definitely make many compromises if need be, but they need to be done for the right reason. I've compromised a lot with my GF but I made sure those decisions aligned with my values and future goals. Don't just give in to make chit work.

Instead, you have to evaluate the girl on many levels before you get to the point of a relationship. Then you move in and live together for a couple of years while you start talking about if a future is possible. It's a step by step approach. If your significant other doesn't want to engage in this process they're probably not serious enough about making things work for the long haul.

If the right girl never comes along do not give in and tie the knot just to have check marriage off your list.

That's my 2 cents and it's not right for everyone. I got buddies +40 and approaching 50 who still go out all the time and bang 20 year old bishes. Marriage is not right for everyone.

GTFO my thread unless you're going to give me good insight on the benefits of being 60, single, lonely and no kids (besides a fat stack of cash)
Edit: I'll bump this in 30 years when you're still around on the misc, and I'm too busy chillin with my wife and kids.
There are a lot of divorced women in their 40's/50's who don't want to re-marry (or at least are easy to persuade into not wanting it) but who still want companionship. And the best part is a lot of them will have cleaned out their ex husband and so are financially set.

Personally I'll only marry someone who is loaded.

you act like you can't have a fulfilling life without a wife and kids

that says more about your sense of self than it does about anything else

I would like kids (for the lulz) but I don't want to take care of them so I donate sperm. I hope in the future one of my children reach out to me so I can see how my spawn looks

But if you're able to get married again later on, then putting the fact that no marriage =/= no ltr aside, what stopping someone who decided to remain single from getting married later on if they change their mind?

Girls are a fuking mess, I get that. I may get cheated on, I get that. But I won't be a little lonely b!tch without kids when I'm 80 and alone.

So, give me the plus side of being single in your 50's and above, with no kids/grandkids.
46 now and many of my friends have given the marriage and kids thing a try and are calling it quits.. They did the just out of college family thing, and they are ready to pivot and try something new.. Singles exist at all ages because not all marriages work and then there is the widow thing.. Anything is possible.

Of course dudes can change their mind and get married at a later age, and in fact that's probably suggested.

But I'm talking about the guys who "absolutely will never get married, I'm alpha, I'll be banging sloots into my 60's, etc"

having kids in this day and age is stupid as fuark
they won't have the same opportunities or lifestyle, this generation isn't moving out of the parents house at age 25. You think your kids are going to be independent 50 years from now? Hell nah, the world is going to chit.

Misc is correct with some theories but ideally the reason why marriages fail is deeper than just all women are sluts. Rather it's incompatibility and not realizing how things work. Marry a woman with equal value who is younger than you plain and simple. Work hard and make yourself successful and don't marry a woman who doesn't bring at least what you are the to the table - these women are rare. Most stories we hear about being cucked or screwed over is with beta-providers. These men worked hard only to marry a woman who is a leech. Don't need to be a rocket scientist to know how that marriage will end. Ideally wait until your late 30s/early 40s and marry a woman in her late 20s, early 30s who has a great career going for her and bang any girl you want on the side until then. The number of failed marriages is huge when people marry in their 20s because in their 20s, they are not financially stable or mature enough. I say wait til' you are 38 and marry a 24-26 year old girl who is goal oriented and has a career lined up (they exist). The problem is that most miscers are losers and of no value to society so the women they surround themselves with are similar hence the high change of failed relationships and being cucked. Marriage still runs a risk but at some stage you need to grow up and this of course is my opinion. Most successful marriages I see are between older men and women that are on the younger side but have a career (went to one where a 38 year old surgeon married a 26 year old medical student who was sexy as hell and fresh out of medical school working as a resident). She has a good career and future so she won't be mooching off him and isn't a stupid dumb bimbo. Definately under 30 - don't get married. Period. But if you are in your late 30s and a stable career oriented woman who makes close to you or as much (even more) comes by then go for it. A woman who has similar values as you and isn't a ****. Like I said these are rare - but they exist. First and foremost though - your 20s and early 30s should be for establishment. Period.cliffs: only think about marriage when you are the best version of yourself and you've figured yourself out AND the woman you marry is of equal value to you (I.E you are both doctors, both lawyers, both work in business etc

Yeah, but even if they are wrong, if they can change their mind then what does it matter? No need to go doing something now just in case you feel a certain way when you're older, when you can just do it when you're older if you do feel that way.

And don't forget that people grow apart as they age and develop. You start off with interests and those interests change each year/decade. After some time you may be in bed with a stranger that is nothing like who you started with.

By the time you are 50 you should have been married and divorced with kids. Thats the usually route. the kids are old enough so you dont have to pay child support anymore and you will have learned some valuable life lessons. Namely that marriage sucks. Did for me anyway, both times.

Still glad I have kids though so not all bad.

Its stramge when a guy is older and has never been married, huge red flag for women too, they shy away from guys like this, just too hard to tame, not to mention, many times they are pretty dorky.

Its not like you see brad pitt type guys that are 50 and never married. you see the guy who collects baseball cards and expensive action figures from the 70's and such. nothing wrong with it but thats how women see them.

none.

when you die, all your stuff goes to goodwill and the govt cuz you have no kids. Your memorabilia/photos go in the trash. No one to leave anyything to.

yeah you save money but when you're 80, can't drive, barely function - it's off to shady acres to get treated like crap rather than have kids helping take care of you and living with you.

Most guys I meet who are 60 plus with no kids - have pretty empty miserable lives and depressed as fuark. Almost homeless. Even worse if they have no wife/she died.

plus dying alone - that's FA dude

Hmmm I've known several old men who for one reason or another (I didn't ask) were single and they always seemed happy. Great uncle was one of them - married 3 times, never had kids, and he lived the life.

50 year olds are not busy with kids you mong. The toughest period for spare time is the first 5 years of the child's life.

However, you're fukn delusional if you think your social group now will look anything like the same when you are 50.

Oh really? So there's no taking them to soccer practice, piano recital, friends b-day, etc?

Of course it won't. That's just my point.

Dudes here think they'll be partying with their bro's and banging sloots into their 60's.

I have no answer, I haven't loved awoman since i was 21, I'm mid 30's now and don't think I'll ever love a woman again, don't realy care to since now I know how easy paying for sex is (srs)

I do think about this a lot though, but again, have no answer. If i find someone and fall in love, I guess I'll roll with it and probably regret it in the end. If not that's fine too. Who gives a **** one way or the other

holy sh-t the autism is real. age: 23, about as mature as a 13 year old.

it's actually very hard to have a fulfilling life without that... because it's what our deepest instincts tell us to do. sense of self? so a sense of self means a life of loneliness? we're social creatures. there's an excellent reason why isolation is such a cruel punishment for prisoners.

inb4 miscers claiming how beta I am and how alpha being alone is. Yeah, sure is, buddy. You're gonna be such a star in your 50s trying to hit on 20 year olds that are mostly disgusted by you.
