It's 2017 do people still believe calories in = calories out?
Is this dogma still popular in the dieting scene? I can't imagine people still think a calorie is still a calorie and that the laws of thermodynamics apply the the human body where we should know by now that the body is governed by biological functions. I cease to believe IIFYM still has a place in modern eating habits. When will people learn hormones are what control fat loss/gain. Just want to hear people's opinions on this popular doctrine.

So will you gain or lose weight if you drink 3,000 cals of semen a day? Asking for a friend.

Calories in does equal calories out *******
Hormones + bodyweight determine how many calories you need and how much protein you need.
Can't believe it's 2017 and people are still this stupid.
Keto is different because of the way fats are metabolized, you sh*t out most of what you eat.

Jason Wittrock did a 4,000 calorie/day test on a keto type diet which would technically be well over his TDEE yet he lost weight, so the whole theory of calories in = calories out holds no weight.

Calories in vs calories out. This has been proven with Twinkie diets, McDonald's diets etc.
But what you eat has a massive impact on satiety and overall health.

It's been proven time and time again hormones regulate fat loss/gain and the types of calories we eat are more important than just the quantity of calories. A calorie from broc**** surely doesn't have the same reaction in the body as a calorie of pop tartThe future of america right here everybody...

The "calories in/calories out" adage has to do with weight loss only, not necessarily body composition.

I mean i get calories are calories
But really 4,000 calories of Doritos aren't the same as 4,000 calories of grilled chicken
Wonder what would happen if you went on a dorito only diet. I mean obviously a grilled chicken only diet would have its pitfalls too but one is prob hitting a much broader range of micronutrients + vitamins

Show me one example, ONE where a person gained weight after eating nothing. I will get down on my knees and suck your tiny 3 inch dick if you do.
I will admit that hormones can definitely affect the rate at which your body burns calories (ie calories out is reduced) but to say the first law doesn't apply to humans is incredibly ignorant. Fck you OP you little gay boy.

I gotta agree with OP to a large degree.
Yes you can't create energy or weight out of nothing but the body is also a very complex thing.
I believe not every different body manages energy in the same way. For example, I believe some people's brains burn an enormous amount of energy.
And different types of calories are managed in different ways with different bodies.

Human bodies are infinitely more complex with 8 major hormones at play, which is why biological not physics dominates how the body regulates its weight.Considering you can't comprehend basic science, can barely string together a coherent sentence, and seem to lack even basic common sense, I doubt you'll even make it to 30 without removing yourself from the gene pool.

What was his diet before?Jason Wittrock did a 4,000 calorie/day test on a keto type diet which would technically be well over his TDEE yet he lost weight, so the whole theory of calories in = calories out holds no weight.
It could be a combination of losing water weight and increased neat + thermogenic effect of eating more food
