Nice straw man too.
I used the word "guy" instead of "cop" in an effort to break the "power"/"image" of the person involved.

Because when people are assessing this video, they see an all powerful being who must not be touched, getting not just touched, but beat up.

When people see a thug beating up a nerd, they know full well the thug is dangerous and likely started the fight, and is likely in the wrong, but they go over and try calm down the situation.

When people see a cop getting beat up, they know full well the guy is likely a thug, is likely dangerous, likely started the fight, and is likely in the wrong, but they go straight to lethal force and get ready to kill a man.

In my experience, most people would not stop to help another in need. Nowadays, society is so ****ed up that people would rather document someone getting hurt by taking videos and snapchats rather then rendering aid or doing something as basic as calling for help. It seems that obtaining social media cred is more important. As far as this particular situation, I think the right thing was done. Any loss of life is tragic, however I do believe that some people choose their own paths such as the deceased who decided to assault a Police Officer.

You guys really elevate the power of a cop, I mean some guys ITT are confusing the rules of the law with what's right morally.

It's shocking, some of you guys are talking as if for example you KNEW for 100% you could stop the attack without any injuries, that you'd STILL shoot the guy, BECAUSE it's allowed within the law.
It's not "some guy" it's a police officer. If the guy didn't respond to verbal commands to get off the officer and the officer feels he is in mortal imminent danger and so asks me to shoot him thenI'm going to.

Don't attack police if you wanna live.

You significantly altered the scenario.

A reasonable person knows there is a difference between a uniform police officer and a random private citizen, and it is reasonable to assume some things about the situation based on one of the involved being a uniform police officer.

You wouldn't say "person" if one of the involved was a petite female and the other a 250 lb man, either. If you have to change the scenario to try to get your point across, reconsider whether or not your point is valid.

Might have used the pinky finger to wear his wedding ring and the bullet would have been stopped by it. Can't take that risk.

Basically what that other miscer is saying, in a situation like that you pull up to a fight in progress, you have no idea if its personal or not. Im not gonna get involved in a fight i have no part in. Thats how lawsuits and charges happen.

Also you bros are real low neggging me for having a opposite opinion. Thats not how discussions work.

How would we know tho? In real life you dont have 20/20 hindsight

Best case scenario you break it up and question both. But like i said, i wouldn't get involved with peoples problems

I don't have to change the scenario to get my point across, i'm giving you examples to show how you/a lot of people overreact/jump straight to lethal force simply because the person involved is a cop.

And your point is that you react this way precisely BECAUSE the person is a cop, you'd jump straight to lethal force. I understand what you're saying fully.

I view this differently to you, while understanding it's in all likelihood the attacker is a dangerous thug, all i'm saying is even because I know the person is likely a dangerous thug, and the fact it's a cop involved, I'd still take the non lethal approach, and I understand that puts myself in more danger than simply shooting the guy, because personally I don't think it was necessary to resort to lethal force.

We don't actually have much to talk about in honesty, it's just a matter of how 2 different people would approach the same situation.

It's almost like you saying "I'd make this move in chess", and me saying "I'd make this move instead".

So, you shoot the guy, I tackle the guy.

Just a clash of opinions as to how we'd approach the situation, no correct answer here. Though as said, I agree your approach is safer, but for me the safer approach isn't necessarily the correct approach.

Or if it was a personal fight between a real cop and the other guy. Who the fuack knows what the deal was?

So you see no difference between a woman is being raped by a uniform police officer, and the scenario in the OP

He's an anti-gun troll, if a topic has a gun involved, he's all over it to see who he can insult and who he can piss off. That's all.

And now a police officer raping a woman, a police officer being pinned down and beat by a man, and a person doing drugs are all interchangeable. lawd

You don't know who is who? lmfao

And what backup are you waiting for, and why are you waiting for it?

Look, we get it, you are unwilling to accept any risk and would rather sit and watch and wait or maybe run away. That's your choice. We're just happy not everybody is that way.
