It's nothing to do with that. In UK courts, just like the US, you can't use evidence gathered through deception, hacking their laptop without a warrant etc.. All things that MI5 will have been doing. They'll also have ways of finding intelligence they won't want to reveal, but to present evidence in a court you need to be able to explain how you have retrieved that evidence. Which again means stuff they find won't be usable in court.
