being self-employed isn't about hawking sh#t on eBay, bro.

The biggest concern is wtf are the people who work these 9-5 jobs doing with their money. If theyre spending it on unnecessary chit, newsflash, youll never make it.
If they budget and invest hard for 5-10 years, youll make it.

If you're working a cash register, you're a monkey pushing buttons while people avoid eye contact and conversation with you all day. Your coworkers will be average IQ alcoholic sex perverts or poverty mode parents. The most you could hope from a conversation is 15 seconds about some crap movie that they like.
In Science, the pay may still be shiit but at least you can compile respect from people you in turn respect.
Only major downside: total sausage fest.
(I'll watch a SpaceX launch every now and then and cheer when the all their wagies cheer. Not because they accomplished some historic goalpost, but because the wagie needs to be remembered.)

BRB spending an hour a day in a car on a deadline.
BRB working hard to get someone else rich for basic pay
BRB dealing with pathetic office dramas
BRB working your ass off then your colleague who does nothing gets the promotion
BRB your gf/wife is ****ing chad or out getting expensive lunches paid for by you when you are at work paying for her.

I never understood people who commit to a job to make someone else rich, and fulfill someone elses dreams. I guess they NEED to otherwise they die, their kids have to drop of school, society disregards them etc, but still.
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

Come on man I wanna know what I am missing out on.
You should also realise I started and FAILED at 8 businesses before I found one that was insanely profitable.
So your plan of wagecell your life away and then suddenly become a successful business owner is flawed because you DON'T LEARN WITHOUT FAILING and you DON'T SUCCEED WITHOUT LEARNING.
Always makes me laugh when wagecells tell me their great plans of quitting the job in 10 years and suddenly being CEO10k/day "just like that"

A lot of you speak of cope, yet you are literally lying to yourself and creating a false reality in order to cope yourself. Not everyone is as much of a drama queen as you are. Working 9-5 is not a big deal, and being so dramatic about it speaks volumes about your personality and drive.
No matter what you say, I will never believe you that you are self employed. Anyone who considers 8 hours out of a 24 hour day to be life ruining certainly does not have what it takes to make it anywhere in life. It's kind of laughable. This is not to say that being self employed isn't a better option, but it's not for everyone. It's definitely not for someone who would lay in the fetile position crying about putting in 8 hours of work (lol).

Anyone who's had to do intellectual work, or has worked an actual 9 to 5, knows this is complete bullshiit.
Let's set aside the whole 2 hours devoted to getting dressed, showered, shaved, and commuting. And how the car insurance and maintenance means it's closer to 3 or 4 hours you're giving up a day. Or the 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night.
These hours given to Mr.Burns are not equal to what your mind and body is capable of at the end of a workday. Your brain operates at its peak around a couple hours after waking up, then quickly nosedives until it requires sleep from the fatigue.
Since these are the very best 8 hours you've got, you sure as hell better be moving someplace with them. If you're at a cash register with no way out, you might as well jump off a cliff before Google replaces you with a couple wavey flailing mechanical arms.
Or in Amazon's case, a camera that stalks customers.

Not everyone who works for a company is a cubicle monkey bro. I love my job, it's actually full of freedom, stability and there is a lot at my own discretion that I effect. Pension is also 60% of my wage for my best 5 years and I retire at 55.. Wut now OP? Should I quit?
