lol @ "fine motor skill".

BRB, training to use the charging handle for 'slide lock' reloads on an AR because the bolt release is a "fine motor skill" and we won't be able to do it under stress. BRB extra large extended charging handle because the regular one is way too small and that 'fine motor skill' means it will fail. BRB there's no reason to train failure or stoppage drills because we won't have the fine motor skill to hold the slide/bolt lock and lock the action open. BRB not training reloads because the mag release is a fine motor skill

I use my support thumb to release the slide, but it's an economy of motion thing, this fine motor skill argument for it is indeed dumb as ****. Good call on that

CDNN sports has 8 + 1 shields without safety for 289.99 (so after rebate it's 214.99) or with safety for 269.99 (so after rebate it's 194.99) + 14.99 flat shipping rate for up to 5 guns.

Speaking of malfunctions, at the match yesterday you had to single-load your rounds through the ejection port. Holy ****. That was the stupidest thing ever in the history of time. Didn't get the round sufficiently led into the chamber twice, what happens? Bolt coming forward jammed the nose of the bullet down onto the feed ramps, bullet set back into the casing, bolt stuck half way over the mag. Dropped mag, cleared jam, and fortunately looked at the round as I was reloading. Saw the setback and grabbed another round, but I didn't consciously check for setback. Praise be to Trump for guiding my eyes to the round and avoiding a kaboom. Obviously going to need to work on that madness if I'm going to keep shooting matches like that.

What matches and **** are you doing where you have to assemble the rifle as part of the stage and thing single hand load rounds through ejection port of an AR? Sense, it makes none?

The store owner had some things that he did correctly, such as being armed, but his biggest –and deadliest– mistake was not keeping a round in the chamber.

Not having a round in the chamber cost him his life, and the life of his son.

In the video above, you can see the store owner handing over his wallet to the armed robbers. One tip to point out in this situation is to, if possible, throw the wallet away from you so that the bad guy can divert his or her attention to the thrown wallet instead of yourself. This, in many instances, can give you the advantage of drawing your firearm and firing that first shot.

Deadly lesson to teach people. I hate to say it, I've probably talked to a dozen Illinois ccw holders over the past couple years who don't carry with one in the chamber. Most recently someone who that the Taurus Curve was god's gift the the concealed carry world. It saddens me and I hope they never have to use their firearm in a defensive situation.

I pretty much despise Taurus as a manufacturer.

They've managed to find a niche with uninformed new gun owners, fudds, fudd gun store workers. They believe Taurus is a quality product for a cheap price. Somehow they are blind to the lawsuits and quality issues over the history of the company.

Yes gas guns have come a long way, but bolt guns are still waaaayyy easier to shoot well. If ARs were just as easy to shoot well as bolt guns, you would see people being competitive with them in PRS style matches. There are no rules against using gas guns in PRS. People choose not to because they aren't as good for that type of shooting. And it's not just accuracy. Gas guns have more moving parts and are less reliable, use a lot of energy to cycle the bolt resulting in a decreased velocity given the same load, are generally less forgiving of breakdowns in the fundementals and are just harder to shoot well.

The assembly was just a stage for the local carbine league.

Single loading was for a 300 yd/600 yd match, 10 rounds fired for score at each distance at targets which are up for 20 seconds, then down for 20 seconds. I assume that the single loading is so that you only put one round into the target or each scored shot. Seemed pretty stupid to me, but since I'd heard of "single loading" Garrands and what not, apparently this isn't something unique.

father in law likes to load a few bird shot rounds into his hd gun. His ideology is that if he mistakenly shoots someone who is supposed to be in his home because he thinks they're a burglar, like my bro in law or someone else who lives there, it won't be lethal. Not a fan of that theory, prefer to have a wml and know who I'm shooting at, then again just me and the wife who live under my roof so less chance of having an issue like that.

Although the G2 isn't listed in the lawsuits I wouldn't own anything from Taurus.

Just googling PT111 G2 problems or issues will show many threads from different forums of issues. You got a "good one" many customers aren't so lucky.

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't trust my life with any Taurus product.
