Also, Edinburgh has consistently topped several of those "Best places to live in the UK" lists for years. London usually doesn't even get into the top 20.

I currently live in one of Britain's best looking cities and it's about 1/10 of the price of London. I'm about a 25 minute drive (with traffic) from where I was born, the people I live around and encounter every day are friendly and the local university (3rd best in the country) serves up an endless supply of posh totty.

Why the fuk would I want to move to London?

Durham is not the 3rd best uni in the country. Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, LSE, Warwick > Durham.

I've spent the vast majority of my life living up north. You can't live like a king on £7.20 an hour.

You'll do alright on £30k, but you need some sort of skills for that.

By the way, given the standard rent for a year in South Hertfordshire is more than you make per annum, am I right in thinking you're subsidised by some kind of state handout?

UK is a dumpster fire.

Lived there for three years. The only good part about my residency was the fact that every 3 day break for work I got to travel to better parts of Europe. Although I did thoroughly enjoy the MOD people we worked with. London is cool like the first 2-3 times, then it's just eh.

If I lived in the UK, I'd make arrangements ASAP to move to the USA.

You get much more bang for your buck. Brb 2500 sq. foot house, 3 bedrooms, finished basement, huge backyard, two car garage. Same price as a 900 square foot **** hole in the UK. You can pretty much locate yourself anywhere in the US dependent on your weather preferences. In the UK, it's all equivalently ****ty.

I can't think of one logical reason to live in the UK, unless you're making an absurd amount of money. Even then... an absurd amount of money will go much farther in the US.
