I feel the hunger all the time throughout the day, except after last meal with carbs and morning meal without them.
Feels weird when I eat the same after workout meal as my last one and in a-w I feel hungry and in the evening not lol.

Most times, I dont, but it depends on how many other ingredients there are and how big the salad is. I make some of mine pretty huge, so I start to count in those cases. For instance, several weeks ago I made one so big the romaine, carrots, mushrooms, and tomatoes added up to 200+ calories.

As I mentioned earlier though, I will give myself some breathing room of 100 calories or so and don't sweat too many little things. If something becomes too tedious, you either need to stop eating it or write it off and just make sure the rest of the diet is tight enough that it won't matter

I did it again; ended up 350 calories over my limit, but had an extra 60g of protein than I usually get too. I end up with 200g of protein in my first two meals, and just keep eating my third meal like I still need a bunch.

Haven't put any weight on

if u are eating green fibrous veggies and not a ****ton, the way you do it it is fine.

I weigh and plug in mine because I eat a whole 2.2lbs pack of mixed vegetables from which ~ 50% is corn and peas which are a bit different and have a high (relative to other vegetables) calorie content.

Im looking for some input.

I want to look my most vascular and shredded and pumped/full - not flat - for a workout on friday afternoon.

How/What should I eat to reach this goal? Atm I'm on some kind of LCHF high protein diet if that makes any difference.

Should I carb load, load up with sodium or anything else. I'd love any input, thx in advance brethren.

Basically, you need to cut sodium and keep carbs low +up your water until Wednesday.

Then cut water for thursday/Friday to almost none, increase carbs and sodium, and viola.

I'm sure jest or grandpa could give you a better plan than the oversimplified one I did.

But why would you want to do that for a gym day?

Interedasting, you made it sound very simple. I thought It'd be more complex.

How much do I up my water intake? I drink like 1,5 gallons/day. And how much sodium, what about carbs?

I wanna show my gympartner how thick solid tight I am

Thx for the pointers btw!

Basically what you want to do is literally dry yourself out. Increasing water intake increases some hormone (idk lol) that makes you keep urinating even after you stop drinking water. 1g carbs also binds with 3-4g water, so with reduced carb intake, you drop even more water.

Then, to get the full look, you increase the carbohydrates while drinking as little water as possible (cause that there binding ability) and increase sodium to bring the pumps.

You can manipulate potassium, drink alcohol, play with some (natural) diuretics, but results are all really individual. I drop water extremely easily. A day of low carbs and 2 gallons of water, I can drop 7-8lbs over a 24 hour period. Some people dont have it that easy.

I did the water cutting once. Won't do it again.
I never mess with my sodium.

Doing this at the end just messes the body up.
It needs water to transport the carbs into the muscle.

During Peak Week of my second show I kept seeing the Lay's Potato Chip commercial with the young lady is savoring a chip. I said to myself; "Sunday you are eating potato chips."
That Sunday my food intake consisted of mostly potato chips and pretzels.

kinda hnng!

..anyway back to my story...

Monday morning when I got out of bed and looked in the mirror I was like.."WTF! who is that!?"
I was full and shredded. I looked like a different person. If only I had looked like that on stage.

When I prep I do not drastically change things during Peak Week.
I do reduce my water during PW. On show day I drink very little and that's mainly so I don't need a Seasoned Citizen potty break during Pre Judging..

No!

I was just telling what happened to me the two days after my show when I was shredded and then consumed a large amount of carbs. The carbs just happened to be potato chips.

As he said...

Unless it is something extremely important, I would just dwindle off all carbs for a week and do veggies/meats/fats only, and then carb up for 2 days before the workout. drink tons of water for 4 days, then dwindle it down to 2-3 glasses a day. Cut out sodium to almost nothing for 5-7 days, use potassium. Use over the counter diuretics. Drink 3-5oz of red wine right before you want to look very vascular. Take a good pre workout and some aspirin.

Master Yoda (deltpecx) is carb backloading good for long term cutting or it's better to change the approach, since the progress is really slow. Your thoughts?

Would vodka work in lieu of red wine? Gonna be at the pool in vegas on friday and wanna look good. Already lean, just want to make sure I'm looking my best. Gonna be drinking either way but if vodka will do the trick I'll stick to that.

Really any alcohol without carbs will work, so vodka is approved.

Some say that a dry red wine has a better dieuretic effect than liquor, AND wine makes you more vascular

Figure/bodybuilding competitors used to drink wine back stage but since it's a bit of a health risk (ie combining alcohol with diuretics, low bodyfat, and being dehydrated) it's been banned lel

i am not master yoda, lol, but I would say it varies too much person to person. Depends on your blood glucose levels and metabolism really. Emphasis on blood glucose levels, though. I do a carb back load in a sense on the days i do eat carbs - with 80% of them being consumed pre/intra/post workout.

My current diet is .... veggies and grilled chicken. and nothing else. My buddy is making me push it to see what we can have me looking like in a week from now. ****in sucks. depletion workouts on this diet is hellll

I wouldn't know as I have yet to use carb back loading during prep.
Each prep I've done somethings a bit differently than previous ones.
I like to test how my body reacts to different approaches.

Last prep I did all my cardio after lifting and on the upright bike.
I believe I held onto a lot more muscle than previous preps.
I also added keto style, see below.

So this next prep cardio on the bike will stay.
Possibly keto style towards the end.
I'm thinking of starting off with the CB this time and see how I look each week.

The last two posing sessions, yesterday and two weeks ago my posing coach thought I was cutting. He said he likes how I'm looking at this weight. I am leaner at this weight now than I've been in the past.

Oh and yes my abs are visible. They are not at the point where they automatically contract upon exhaling but they are visible.

I started using CB in Jan/Feb IIRC.
I've been using it as I 'bulk'.
I weighed 168 in mid December. Today I weigh 189.
I've been bouncing between 187 and 190 the past few weeks.
My goal is to be a solid 190 on June 4 when I start my prep.
So I've gained about 20 pounds over 5 months.
Most days I wake up really hungry.
Rarely would I wake up hungry eating other ways.

The last prep I did a keto type diet the last few weeks before the shows (2).
The second show I came in better than the first which was 6 weeks earlier (see avi).
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.
