I'm gonna cosign this, Ronaldo is for the chads, Messi is for the McLovin's

You shake your head in disbelief when Ronaldo scores from 6 yards out? How often does Ronaldo do something spectacular? How often does Messi do something spectacular?

I'm starting to think some miscers prefer Ronaldo because he's an alpha chad and dislike Messi because he seems beta.

Only on the misc you'll hear people say Ronaldo is better than Messi solely for this very reason. Messi is by far the GOAT. Commentators and football experts label him the greatest ever. I've never heard any expert or commentator utter the word Ronaldo and greatest in the same sentence.

Nothing against him, one of my fave players but boy those goals last night were easy, served to him on a platter except for the volley. Sums up his whole career at Real Madrid. People don't call him "tapinaldo" and "penaldo" for no reason.

None of that portugal team plays for top clubs except an aging pepe who doesnt start anymore, take ronaldo out and they dont even qualify for euro 2016

Based of goals they are very similar, ronaldo has been more consistent but messi had that one ridiculous year. Ronaldo has more assists total in champions league games as well, and his cl goals are statistically more important.

Saying messi has him for longevity is ridiculous, time can only tell but right now Ronaldo is flying and on course to win everything and his 5th balon d'or at 32 (10 years on from his first) so hes currently winning in that regard hands down

As for against premier league teams, Real madrid hasnt actually faced many english clubs in the PL, but when they have they've not lost. Barca have whipped Arsenal repeatedly, not just messi. And beating arsenal in the cl is completely different from dominating playing in the PL, many great players have failed
Cmon man. Address all of my points if you want to debate.
Current iniesta, rakitic and busquets are nowhere near kroos and modric. Iniesta is older, busquets is the same player but does not suit the system enrique plays. Rakitic is the weakest of the bunch some could argue. Bale doesnt play and seems to suit the team, same with benzema being worse than suarez but suiting the system.

Do you think Portugal stand a chance at 2018Russia?

Based on goals it doesnt matter, they are similar give or take 10 goals. But even with Ronaldo playing out of his skin despite getting older Messi will match that and surpass, would be foolish to think otherwise. I mean Ronaldo is 3 years older and playing like an animal, and he other guy is still there right next to him no problem. Same goes for assists. But again, im talking more about overall play than stats. Messi is better/will be better in both no problem. Its just how it is if it continues at this rate.

Messi has spanked PL teams whenever he wanted to(despite some struggles against Chelsea)
To say he would not dominate the PL is foolish. What is your version of 'dominating'? Has Ronaldo dominated La Liga? One title in his time perhaps says otherwise right?

I dont even know what to debate anymore, its clear who is the best(possibly of all time). You can have your opinion and thats fine.

Ok you are comfirmed potato. Please let me know how many goals messi has scored from 20+ yards out. I hate people like you. Clearly have never played the game.

Cmon man it does not sum up his whole career. Youre basically saying put anyone great there instead of ronaldo and they would score just as much. Ronaldo is a machine. Dude is actually scoring way less this season, but scoring when it counts

This just in.. RONALDO has also dominated PL teams.. Id love to see Messi try to compete in England on a weekly basis.. Just like Pep who is struggling, yet was "goat" in Spain. Im a huge Pep fan btw, but no way in hell can Messi compete week in and week out vs actual tough teams.

Who the hell ever said Ronaldo hasnt dominated? Are you retarded brah?
Comparing a manager to a player...
Messi would crush PL teams. We will never find out, we should just take the CL spankings as evidence enough.

So what you're saying is that Hazard and Dele Alli are better than Messi?

Messi's a barca player, I don't think he would be successful in a sh!t team. Look at him and Argentina. Where as Ronaldo's been successful with MUFC and Real Madrid winning their leagues & champs league with both of them. He's also won Euros with Portugal.

At the end of their careers this is what will give the edge to Ronaldo.

The fact that he GOATed it up in the PL and for RM and won the first silverware for Portugal makes him the best of this era so far.

Unless Messi wins the WC it's case closed.

Now if Ronaldo wins the WC in Russia 2018....oh lawl I truly think Catalunya will set itself on fire.

Messi has scored plenty of goals from outside the 18 yard box. It's more his dribbling ability I was talking about.

Man these Ronaldo nuthuggers are dopey as phuck. Clearly you aren't judging them on ability, you just prefer Ronaldo as a person. 90% of football legends agree that Messi is the better player. But let me guess, they all have a bias towards him? Lol **** off and play netball *******

I think it's hard to deny that Messi is overall the better player. You could definitely argue though that Ronaldo has had a more successful and complete career, having proved himself in two different leagues, attaining international glory, etc. If he leads RM to CL success this year, he'll win his 5th B D'or and deservedly so - the guy is absolutely tearing it up this season at the most crucial of moments.

I think they've firmly cemented their place as 1 and 2 of all time. Nostalgia makes people idolise past legends, but none of them can compare to the impossible standard these two have set and maintained for over 10 years now. Truly the GOATs.

Everything messi does, Ronaldo has done plus more. You are seriously a pathetic potato

Again. Ronaldo has been relevant since 2003.. Messi was still wearing number 30 in 2005 lmao

Just lol at the World Cup final in 2014. Messi was invisible. Let's not forget his free kick last minute of the game. The ball is still in space.

Why do people judge players on trophies? Teams win trophies, not individuals. By that logic, you have to say Luke Chadwick was a better premier league player than Gerrard. He won the premier league, Gerrard didn't.

Also, just because Messi has stayed with the same team his whole career, doesn't make him any less of a player. Another really dog chit argument. Nobody uses that argument against Scholes, Giggs, De Rossi, Totti etc. They are all legends for being loyal to their club, but not Messi.

Let's be civil and honest here. Normally hard for messi fans, but we can agree that England is way harder if a league than Spain. That's a given. Ronaldo has proved himself there and in Spain. In fact he's done better in Spain at an older age lol.

Portugal is inferior to Argentina. Argentina has more big names than Portugal.

Look at the team messi played with on Barca. You have to be potato to compare Neymar, Suarez, xavi, inietta, busquets. Players that grew up in the Barca academies since age ****in 11 or even younger. They molded together. Bale is irrelevant now, modric is good sure but to say him or Kroos are the same level as xavi and iniesta is just wrong.

We don't need to look at trophies that's fine, but Ronaldo is way more of a complete player and has done everything messi has done in Spain, and more..
Case proven^^ go back to playing FIFA.

To be honest it was pretty civil until you chimed in. I even repped one of the guys who thinks Ronaldo is the best.

I don't understand your logic.

1) You're over-hyping the EPL

2) If guys like Hazard, Pedro, Payet, and Alexis who are more skilled than physical can dominate the EPL, then why couldn't Messi do the same?

Here's Payet against one of the best defensive teams outside the top 6 in the EPL LOL

Here's Messi against a team that would destroy every team in the EPL bar maybe 4 teams

Ronaldo won the Euro's with a sub par Portugal team.

1) You're over-hyping the EPL

Here's Messi against a team that would destroy every team in the EPL bar maybe 4 teams
