CCW holders never stop mass shootings . . . except when they do.

Use of force and use of lethal force in self defense/defense of others aren't any different where Texas says you aren't responsible enough to carry a gun than they are in the rest of the state, and carrying in an off limits place is nothing another person can sue you for.

But the real world isn't black and white, my point is that if a person were to choose to carry concealed where they aren't supposed to because of the odds/consequences of needing a gun and not having it being far more disastrous than the penalty for being in an off limits location, can't be the dumbest thing a person has ever heard (or whatever phrasing)

And to follow up on the next post you made about avoiding places you cannot carry...here in IL there are tons of places you cannot carry so it severely limits anywhere you want to legally carry

If you use justified, lawful lethal force in self defense according to your state laws (as determined by others such as juries, not determined by you), then you were justified. Maybe a prosecutor will choose to go after you if it was an off limits place, just as maybe a prosecutor chooses to go after you if you are the wrong race or the person you shot is the wrong demographic, or maybe prosecute you if you have a Punisher logo engraved on your gun, but that's a bit of a rabbit hole
But you said sued in civil court. What? By whom and for what?

The last time somebody dug out all the info for states like that,Texas was in the bottom 1/3 for % of population licensed to carry. You all have been brainwashed by the media and hollywood because they love to paint Texas as everybody having and carrying guns, but it's simply not so. Primary reason, your CHL is and for awhile has been far too difficult and expensive to get. Secondary reason, you can have a gun in your car without a license.
States like Indiana, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and others rank way ahead of Texas here.
And not even the top states are into 1/10 territory for HAVING a license, then you must factor that most license holders don't carry daily.

If people can sue mcdonalds for not having a warning label on their hot coffee, killing someone in an area you arent allowed to have a gun should worry you a lot I'd think? Maybe I am way off base here?

But what are they going to sue you for? If the force you used was justified, it was justified. Being in an off limits location doesn't allow somebody to put you at reasonable fear of imminent serious bodily harm or death and not risk facing a lethal force defense. They can't say "I should be allowed to shoot/stab him and he can't shoot me because guns aren't allowed here", even in civil court, that's just not going to work.

In some states it is possible for families of deceased to file a wrongful death suit (in other states, that is not allowed if shooter is justified/not charged criminally), and that is something you run the risk of any time you use force or lethal force against anybody, regardless of where you are.
Look back at OJ Simpson for an example of a time and place where not guilty criminally could sill be sued civil

I have and will carry anywhere I want other than federal building and schools. If a stupid ass place like Starbucks or something has a sign up that says no guns, I simply won't go there, but I've never seen any such sign posted. Cases like Suzanna Hupp made my mind up on that.
Stores that put up signs that like are completely idiotic and only advertising that no one will resist.

[QUOTE=jfindon post_id=1503629141]I have and will carry anywhere I want other than federal building and schools. If a stupid ass place like Starbucks or something has a sign up that says no guns, I simply won't go there, but I've never seen any such sign posted. Cases like Suzanna Hupp made my mind up on that.
Stores that put up signs that like are completely idiotic and only advertising that no one will resist.

By the way, can someone tell me how the **** a local establishment can undermine state law? I never understood that.
