Srs, "Trump never expected to win." LOL k, you friends with him? You don't know chit and the fact that you continue to assume what the guy is thinking is beyond ridiculous. You sound like one of the most gullible sheep ever.
Quit assuming everything at face value- learn that people are much, much smarter than you when it comes to the white house situation. If you've ever done something that looks wrong at first but you know the outcome at the end is what you want- then you would understand. Your 3rd grade grasp on the white house seriously shows how easily manipulated you are.

Howard Stern: 'Nobody wanted Hillary to win more than Donald Trump'
The fact he barely works, continues to live in Florida and now NJ, golfs a ton, has fulfilled only like 2 of his promises, it's clear he didn't want to win and he has heavily implied he prefers his old life.
You're from San Diego. You see the demographic changes first hand. Right wing populism is 100% dead in a decade.

If we voted by popular vote Trump would have lost by even more votes than he did. There is also Texas, which is going to be blue very soon as well.

If anything the electoral college is going to make it impossible for a Republican to ever win again as well.
Trump got less votes than Bush in Michigan. It's not like Trump was a dominant force a la 1996 Bulls or 1985 Bears.

No one is relying on an archaic system to win elections. There's a set of rules to win elections that both parties know going in. One person won, the other did not.

If you won the popular vote and the lost the electoral college that indicates that you are an incompetent politician that didn't utilize your resources properly. And that it's a good thing for America that such a poor strategic thinker didn't win the election.
How surprising was it to realize that Hillary and the idiots she hired ignored prescient advice Bill offered on the rust belt voters?
Maybe the dim witted Democrats will learn their lesson and not nominate a corrupt criminal that can't even walk up stairs under her own power. But I doubt it.
P.S Leftists didn't prevent another World War. The division of the world by two super powers and the threat of a nuclear holocaust did that.

If Trump won the popular vote like Bush did in 2004 (50-51%) and won over 320+ electoral votes, I would think right wingers had a chance.
Some would argue that Trump would have won the popular vote and more electoral votes but a) he ran a crap campaign and b) the Access Hollywood tape damaged him a bit.
It's super frustrating that this has happened to Dems not once, but TWICE in the past 16 years. Romney LOST the popular vote but right wingers lost their mind thinking he won it. So don't act like you wouldn't have been pissed if Trump won the popular vote but lost the electoral college.

After the election this November, I'm not anticipating any reduction in the right wing populism. They were remarkably cohesive and consistent with Trump's election, and before that the Tea Party gained a huge foothold in American politics. Just when I think that factors like the dying of the worthless boomers and the "browning" of the country will swing it inevitably toward democrats, the democrats either shoot themselves in the foot by election stupid candidates like Hilldog or the nationalist movement surprises me with it's ability to message and deliver the vote.
I for one will not be fooled again. I can certainly hope, and will work, to rid the government of the right wing nationalist movement, but I am not expecting any huge changes any time soon. Damn nationalist are worse than that old whack a mole game.

ITT a lot of people think being less liberal == conservative. The younger generations are still left of center, albeit not as much, and think the SJWs and Bernies of the world are delusional crybabies. You also have to take this in context - when they say "more conservative" they mean "relative to that generation at THEIR time," so what they're basically saying is that Gen Z is more conservative than Boomers were when they were the same age, which makes sense considering the US had become the world superpower, the economy was rock solid, and they didn't need to be as fiscally conservative as Gen Z has had to today.

There will be no mass deportations. There will be no end to anchor babies. There will be no stopping of refugees. No reform to legal immigration. Sanctuary cities face no threat. Trump keeps getting cucked by judges.
Because of this, by 2028 the GOP will be a permanent minority party in the USA. Texas, Arizona, and Georgia will be blue by then.

The good news is that the GOP has maxed out its base. 70% of Texans under 5 are non-white. What's your plan to keep Texas red? Trump only won it by 9 points in 2016. Texas will be blue by 2024/28.
Texas is hitting desperation mode by ending sanctuary cities. Too little, too late. Should've did that 15 years ago.
