These racist miscers will try to pin race on every issue they see. I bet this guy hasn't even seen the movie but feels free to blame it's failure on a diverse cast

The King Arthur film from 2004 with Clive Owen was pretty good. At least it was to me...

I'd probably like this one too.

I don't get the comic movie bashing. Aside from being comic books all the stories are new and fresh to everyone. Imo where you have issues is continuing on with one character too long or rebooting.

Nothing wrong with comic book movies, you're right only problem is with the nonstop rebooting but that's only really an issue with Spiderman

Just like every other Guy Ritchie movie. I love Stock, Lock, and Two Smokin Barrels, as well as the RDJ Sherlock movies, Man From UNCLE, and Snatch but almost all his movies bomb hard af. He reminds of Shane Black and Neil Blomkamp.

Probably all boycotting it because Guy Ritchie used the word gay in a negative way in an interview the other night.

As soon as I saw the preview and saw a black guy in it as King Arthur's right hand man I thought lol this is ****ing stupid.

Maybe it will work better with a remake of Braveheart. They can make William Wallace a little Chinese man with a thick accent, and he struggles to triumph over the communication barrier as he leads a diverse transgendered mixed race army (mostly of Indians, blacks, half of which are Muslims) as they unite to fight for Scotland's freedom.

It would likely be far more successful than this crock of chit.
I bet most of you simpletons don't even know who King Arthur is.... uneducated swine that you are. King Arthur is actually a very important figure in British history.

Fuk Hollywood, it's disgusting. I hope its cultural influence and significance dies as soon as possible.
Historically speaking, the existence of King Arthur is not even firmly established, let alone any specific historical facts about him.

But the legends of him typically involve wizardry and a magical sword.

The best and most successful movie about him was a 1981 fantasy movie.

This King Arthur isn't bad and unsuccessful because it's not historically accurate (about a possibly non-existent character most commonly associated with a wizard and a magical sword...). Never stopped Gladiator or Braveheart. It's bad and unsuccessful because it's poorly conceived and even its style is horribly offputting.

I don't disagree. But most movies don't work. There's too many elements to pull together. This is a badly conceived version, and it's fundamentally because there's a bad script, a bad lead performance, and an attempt at style that doesn't work. No matter how authentic or inauthentic the movie tried to be, it wouldn't have solved any of these problems.

It'd be cool if they tried to approach an authentic-feeling take on King Arthur, but there's no guarantee it wouldn't be even worse than this one (the 2004 late Roman set one gave it a shot to an extent. Wasn't great). They tried to do that with Robin Hood, and it's soundly trounced by the 1938 film and the Mel Brooks spoof and the one with Robin Hood as a fox.

I agree that people miss opportunities by erasing interesting stuff about the classic stories (most adaptation of Greek myth) but this is absolutely the least of the movies problems.

Don't care for the story? It's not like people have been interested in the story over a millennia or anything.

The problem is silly CGI, silly additions to the well known story, and silly changes to the characters. And yes, that does involve making Merlin a black dude. Would not watch for that reason alone.

Could have told you that would happen. Saw trailer and was like "WTF is this King Arthur rehash with Lord of the Rings theme?? WTF is going through the minds of these producers?? They spent all that money on chit ideas like this??"

It amazes me some people make big money with ideas that a 5 year old could come up with. Not sure what is going on in movie industry..haven't been to the theaters in about 2 years now.

they never do the story right... it's like so simple but people just want to make it like an action flick or something

that king arthur movie with clive owen is the closest one to being done properly but even so it's still far off from the king arthur stories
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.
