LMAO so much cope.
Ronaldo is a better football player and a better person compared to Messi.
If Real wins Champions League (which they won't, sadly), he's going down as the GOAT.

Actually barca have been poor the last two years

If you are looking at whos presence has correlated with trophies, the arguement is much stronger for xavi and Iniesta, both at club and international level

A League Title and two Copa Del Reys isn't poor by any means but it's not up to the standard Barca have set over the past decade, yes. Football is a team sport with 11 players a side, you cannot blame a single player for not winning them. If we're talking about who's the better player it's Messi by a distance.

Only on the Misc do people think that CR7 is better. He may be taller, stronger, faster, more aesthetic, but he's not the better player.

Tbh. Get the feeling Ronaldo is nut hugged a lot because of his looks. To the guy that says he isn't a tap in merchant. Watch all of his goals please. He hasn't produced goals like Messi does for years now. His period was champions league with Man U and first few years at RM. Even then, anyone remember the video of him being shut down by AC Milan?

Yeah I agree he is GOAT player, but I have a feeling he will never get football's biggest prize, and that's a world cup win.

One of the reasons I prefer Ronaldo is for his amazing work ethic.

I feel he works harder than Messi.

Beating players when? Tapinaldo, Penaldo. People don't call him those for no reason. He's basically Nicolas Anelka on steroids, probably the best goal poacher of all time, Ronaldo is on the same level as Henry, Pele and Van Nistelrooy but nowhere close to the GOATs like Messi, Brazilian Ronaldo and Maradona.

Conversely his looks, physique and celebrity status leads to many jealous haters. Everyone is drawn in by an underdog story, and messi is just that

Nature of goals isnt really that important, Ronaldo is a more effective player at winning you games and trophies and thats what ultimately counts. Looking pretty when you score means nothing

We're on BB.com. We all know how much the Misc loves to nuthug good looking guys and bash anyone ugly regardless of their achievements. If you try to deny this then anything you say cannot be taken seriously.

Messi freak of nature eh? We have Ronaldo. Insane muscle mass for the amount of cardio he does, incredibly fast, huge vertical jump. While being 32. It's BS to say Messi didn't work hard or to even consider that Ronaldo has worked harder. Messi worked with what he got given and so did Ronaldo. To attribute it all to to nature and not say the exact same for Ronaldo is a huge insult.

Messi has insane ball control, balance, coordination, quickness that you cant teach. His style of play cant be compared to anyone else past or present

Both work extremely hard, thats a given to be where they are and are clearly extremely gifted

You will see other players with Ronaldo's physical talents or close to it, just none have his work ethic. We might not ever see something like Messi. Overall Ronaldo has worked harder and is more manufactured

Lol at tapnaldo

Yet the guy scores volley, long range goals from anywhere outside the box, best header in the world, and kunt is two footed, and is the best counter attacking player the game has ever scene.

Dude is top 5 GOAT and if Madrid wins the CL again this year he's in the top 3 ahead of Messi and only below Pele and Maradona.

Joke comment. Ronaldo worked harder because his success is attributed to his physical superiority? Were you watching Messi when he trained while young? He probably put in just as many hours in as Ronaldo but had a different focus. Physical attributes aside, you are saying that Messi's gifts can't be taught, but Ronaldo's gifts can? Your bias is unreal. Idk though, maybe you're best friends with Ronaldo and Messi.

i dunno bro, maradona does what ronaldo and messi does, without the referee protection.

there was an interview with a defender as part of the skysports biography special on him, the dude basically said, our plan was to take his legs out.

Of course Ronaldo is a great player, he would be the undisputed GOAT right now if he din't have to play alongside Messi. He has declined rapidly the past few years but has adapted is game and has still proven to be effective.

He has declined physically speaking, but has improved elsewhere so its hard to say hes regressed overall. Similar to michael jordan when he got older. As i said earlier, i think he is more effective when it counts now and he is less selfish which overall is resulting in Real Madrid winning everything meaningful

true, but dribbling and change of direction at speed is the same. referee protection is in the game now, defenders back off players running at them so they dont get red carded where as in maradonas day, youd just get straight taken out with the defender getting a warning as long as the taken out player wasnt injured.

maybe im being biased towards romanticised youtube videos of maradona?

maybe youre protecting the best thing in football today to not minimise the sport and players you love?

need an older football fan, one who has witnessed maradonas brilliance to give input

I never said you favoured either of them in the quoted post. I'm saying it's rather unfair of you to attribute Messi's success to his natural talent and then say Ronaldo has worked harder than him when maybe 1 in a few billion will be as physically as capable as him while having his skill....

Basically, they're both genetic freaks who worked equally as hard.

His positioning and finishing have improved, everything else regressed IMO. He can't beat a defender via dribble to save his life anymore. He has transitioned from an explosive winger to a clinical target man.

Its true its completely different now, we can see similar things happening in the NFL and NBA. Its about protecting the stars and creating a more exciting spectacle both ultimately leading to more money

Pele never played outside America so its hard to respect his club achievements, his world cups stand out but that Brazil side would have likely won without him

What Maradonna did with Napoli is unprecedented, that kind of thing would never happen now just for financial reasons

That Ke19 fella is messi bum boy.

As somebody who has spent number of years watching both players and the respective teams i have the below to say.

Messi has a phenomenal natural talent and god like abilities all round the pitch. From a very young age is was apparent Messi was going to be one of the greats. The Barca team from 2009-2017 has been moulded to fit Messi like a glove, and when the rest of the team includes some of the greatest players in recent history it makes for a dominant powerhouse. The touch pass touch pass type of play within the midfield and striker zone suits Messi's quick feet and skill set. For a long time Messi reigned as king of football and still on a visual level.

Ronaldo although an outstanding player from the outset had to develop he's skills and fitness levels over period of time. First with the flashy style of step overs and runs at Man U and then with the more involved superhuman athlete at Real. However what a lot of people like about Ronaldo is he has changed he's style of football over the years to meet the demands of the team and he's body. Always adapting to the situation needed and scoring at the most vital times in Real's history.

I prefer Ronaldo however Messi is more naturally talented.

Real have been the better team this season, and Ronaldo has been the goalscorer they have needed, regardless of the way the goals are scored.
