I found that book incredibly insightful regarding relationships, and gives a practical approach to healing trauma (ie. consciously use a multitude of approaches, no one method/therapy will heal you).

I read the book, and thought 'yeah, that makes sense'. I had no idea that the concept would stick with me, and change how I approach and perceive developing skills/talents.

Book helped me to understand cultural and interpersonal paradigm differences.

Psycho-Cybernetics is the archetype for practical self-help.
It shows you how to actually get real-world results.
It's not wordy or inaccessible either.
All it does is lay out the one psychological mechanism you need to understand, in order to effectively modulate your behavior, and get the measurable physiological effects that matter.
It was written in the 60's, but it pioneers those few components of mindset training that are actually confirmed by science.
That's the stuff that matters.

"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Are you really that pretentious that you would call someone else pathetic just because they don't enjoy reading?
I realize this is the unpopular opinion in the room so you guys can save your negs, but I'm always seeing a circle jerk of wantrepreneurs recommending books to each other so they can feel successful, meanwhile the actual successful people spend their time actually doing the work instead
