LE has a job to do and they don't make the laws. I know a lot of cops and have worked with LE, and will always give LE the benefit of the doubt. I want to be very clear on that.

If reasonable suspicion exists, and what she had pretty damn suspicious to be sure, then they should proceed as the law allows. But, when/if it's established, or at least not enough evidence exists to make the case, return peoples $.

There's been some really bad cases regarding that. A farmer got on a plane with 10k to go buy a piece of farm equipment. He was old school old guy. 10k in cash got the attention of the authorities at the airport. Even after he showed where he was going and why, and the seller of the tractor confirmed what they were doing, etc, etc, they would not return his $. He had to sue, and it took years.

That type of thing has happened more often than people know, and it's absolute BS, and as un 'Murican as it gets.

Now if I have to make a deadline where I need that money and I now can't get to it because it's stuck in limbo what good is it to me now?
When are you going to post pics of this 250k/year stripper?

What I believe is that I don't care if it was legit or not. If one single American citizen is deprived of his money by the cops for a time period of greater than one second then I'd rather all the drug money to be allowed to move freely.

There's a stretch of highway near Reno (I think) that is famous for this ****. Because suspected marijuana transportation is a thing in the area, the police were seizing cash from everyone on this certain stretch of road.

I've lived with LE numerous times in my life and I got along great with them. The ones I lived with were college educated, down to earth, good people. That goes for 90% of the people they had as co-workers too. But then I go out with them and I see the 2-3 guys in their department who are absolute pieces of human ****. These guys ruin lives on a daily basis and nothing ever happens because they have a badge. It's disgusting and while I have nothing but respect for my friends of 10+ years and roommates who have been LE, it makes me wonder why they don't police themselves and get rid of these AWFUL (and I mean fcking awful) human beings in their department.

They're the same ones who will make ******** posts being pro-Constitution but will wreck your life if you so much as question what they're doing. Nothing worse than a right-wing hypocrite.

I don't disagree with any of that per se and within any profession there's a small % that are chit bags that make the other 98% look bad. By your name I assume you're mil? Obviously you saw and experienced the same in the mil. Some times they do get booted off the PD. Obviously you don't hear about it, but happens more often than you might think. Don't forget stuff like unions and such. My pals at a major metro PD said there were a few guys they worked with who were total dirt bags but getting rid of them damn near impossible due to the union. Not all of my experiences with LE were great either. Met a few jerks for sure.

The difference Will is most professions aren't agents of the government who can deprive you of your life liberty and property.

But I believe that the majority of cops abuse their power in some way everyday. Maybe you not beat or kill someone but they find a way to cross their boundaries.

I also believe that one rotten apple spoils the whole barrel. So as a whole I have lost all respect for them.

That comes from a white, middle aged, military veteran who is self employed and has voted republican in every election since he turned 18.

Rgr rgr. I'm sorry you have lost all respect for them. I have not. Simply know too many good cops, and also know the thin blue line is not a metaphor. I wouldn't last one day in that job. If humans are involved, some will suck at their jobs, and the effect of that in some cases, far reaching as you rightly point out. No doubt you saw similar in the mil who are also working at the behest of the gubment.

And when some pleb tells me everyone in the mil is a baby killer and looks forward to killing women and children, yada yada yada, I will also tell them to blow it out their ignorant pie hole knowing they are wrong about those of the thin green line.

Thank you for your service this Memorial Day weekend.

Quite a bit different in the rangers.

If a dude didn't fit the team, he was out faster than you could blink. The same was true for the indoc phase and even in ranger school. I remember we had to vote people out in ranger school, the bottom 2 guys on the votes were lined up in front of us and we all told them why we wanted them out. One of them was a classic since my friend was next to me and said:

"Not only should you be dropped from the course, you should be shot too"

Fcking savage.

The day the police departments start doing the same thing and getting rid of the Dhawkeye's of the force is the day a lot of these issues end. Too many dirtbags out there that ruin it. Yes it's unions but it's also the good ones who just let their dirtbag buddies slide through. I see it all the goddamn time. I know 2 LEO's right now that are terrible human beings and they're going to work another 20+ years each. Imagine how many lives they're going to ruin in that time frame. It's crazy to think about.

Hell, look at the original story here. Whether this chick is a drug mule or not, there's a Constitution for a reason. Who are these dirt bags who ignore the Constitution and seize money (robbery) without so much as blinking an eye? It's fcking criminal.

Lmao cry harder

Drug laced money
Wrapped in dryer sheets

But mah constitution.

Gtfo. It was legally seized. What was not legal was them keeping it after they could not determine it was ill gotten gains and should have been returned. Only a fukkin potato would believe she had it transported like that for any legit business

Never criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Put it in a lock box at the bank. Better yet, should've put it in a bank account. Money itself doesn't exactly grow interest just sitting there.

And there's always guys who make through and still suck at their jobs. You can't tell me every Ranger was GTG. The mil process obviously different but there's worthless idiots in every part of it and people who clearly have no business being there. SEAL buddies have told me there's always a few guys who make through BUDs, get their Tridents, and are just not up to spec.

SEAL buddies have told me there's always a few guys who make through BUDs, get their Tridents, and are just not up to spec.
Are you seriously trying to argue that "every industry has ****ty people so blindly accept ****ty cops"?

That's how we wind up with obese GED failures like dhawkeye
Never criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Wrong the police are not here to help us. They are under no legal obligation to protect you and their main job is to just arrest people and let DA and judge figure it out. Why because the guys with the most arrests get promoted.

A perfect example of getting screwed would be I used to be on ********. I told my psych I wanted to stop. We both let my prescription expire. If I dropped a pill or two under my seat and now these days let a cop search and he found it I'm getting charged. The cop is going to jam me up just cause he can.

So never under any circumstances let then look. Ever.
