i think u meant western men lol, which i can confirm... i have been swiping in foreign locations, and in africa especially was getting match after match of fit hoes many starting convos with me and some initializing hookup with basically no effort on my part. got at least 2 marriage proposals already, one calling me her soul mate. i decided fuark, enough of this, getting matches but no meets so went back to my own location. which reminded why i changed locations in the first place, because now im getting close to no matches once again. its like two different worlds. have yet to try boost here so we'll see how that goes

and anyone who thinks you would be getting more matches in large cities, would like an explanation as i dont see the logic in this, as there are so many men in large cities using this that u are much, much less likely to be seen. every time i have swiped in a smaller city/town or somewhere where not as many people are using tinder, i have gotten many more matches

im gonna be moving soon, to another large city. i am already fit and muscular but will be starting to srs gym, get myself a pt perhaps for motivation, get some new pix up and if i still dont see an improvement i will prob call it quits on this app

also... where the f are all the casual women at. with the exception of africa it seems like half of the profiles i come across say 'no hookups' or something along those lines even if their pics make them look like a slut. wtf? have been wondering if dropping some casual keywords into my bio would make the algorithm pick up on what i want and shift the girls i am seeing in my favor, but doesnt seem to do anything. have changed my pix to be more seductive already. would appreciate any other tips

Will never understand the female compulsion to wedge their way into a conversation with someone that openly advertises to being everything they hate

Lol if a girl puts anything about Bernie Sanders or something about feminism in their profile I swipe left so hard I crack my phone

Second time you've been wrong this week:
https://theblog.okcupid.com/the-4-bi...es-41bedf26e4d

In regards to our previous conversation:

Did you also delete the app from your ******** apps section when you reset in your test?
Did you rate the girls you saw in your queue from 1-10 on both accounts in order to accurately compare?

Feelings and cognitive biases will betray you. Only thing that matters is cold, hard data.

(sidenote, it's kind of amazing to me that last year my all-time high was 50 matches over the weekend and 90 for week. Match rates have gone down so far since then, even with one Boost a week I'm lucky to hit a third of those numbers. RIP Tinder)

First of all... from 2010, 7 years ago, many things have changed including the prevalence of camera phones and the average age of a dating site user (18-22 year olds were a FRINGE minority group back then)

Second of all.. Okcupid vs Tinder, not comparable in the least. Nothing in common aside from it is meant for finding members of the opposite sex.

Thirdly.. Tinder themselves have admitted to using an ELO system. If you don't know what an ELO system is, then you probably won't understand why I'm not wrong. The very nature of that system has to punish people for trying to game the algorithm or cheat it. Your ELO score has to stick with you somehow and simply deleting / recreating an account will affect your ELO because it would be a useless system if you could simply clean slate it every time you delete.

So sadly your pathetic and cringy spreadsheet of match #s is not at all indicative of how Tinder does their rating. The fact that they admitted to using an ELO rating system is proof enough that they punish you for certain things and reward you for others.

This is why if you go back to older tinder threads you will see people with 100s of matches due to just swiping right on everyone. Tinder used to just put you at the top of the stack if you were last active. Now, they significantly punish you if you swipe right way more than you get swiped right. It's how elo ratings work.

Furthermore, there are several more anecdotes that contradict your own than there are that agree with your own...

You need to go back to being red

Really not a great time of day. The attractive girls are probably not sitting at home on Tinder at 9pm CST on a holiday weekend.

LOL@ you thinking I don't know what an ELO score is despite contributing the most actual data and science to this thread over the years.

LOL@ you trying to use anecdotal evidence over actual data.

And finally, a major LOL at "OKCupid vs. Tinder, not comparable in the least". If you think you can disprove what I posted, then do it.

I've never been red, because I contribute useful information and facts to this thread rather than hearsay powered by cognitive biases.

1. You don't understand an ELO rating system, because you attempt to negate the very nature of it's utility with your "data" (it's not science, it's not evidence, it's not proof of anything.. it's useless cringey numbers on a spreadsheet made by a pathetic miscer)

2. A spreadsheet about how YOUR tinder profile does in YOUR area with YOUR pics and YOUR bio at 100% swipe rate is NOT SCIENCE lmfao, this needs to be stated over and over again. Honestly maybe consider going to school for something in the STEM fields? You'll see what I mean.

3. You keep saying cognitive bias, I do not think you know what that term means. It is not cognitive bias to make a statement of fact (Tinder has an ELO rating for you, Tinder will reduce your rating for attempting to get around it, Tinder has openly stated they do not reward the behavior of deleting profiles and recreating on quora/articles/what have you, etc)

4. You bring up a 10 year old blog post from OkC, when online dating was being used primarily by Gen Xers, as some sort of scientific proof. You are shooting for the moon with that one. Keep trying.

Point is, your spreadsheet proves nothing. The lower ELO rating does not make you unlikely to get matches, it makes you unlikely to get a high rating individual to see you and swipe right on your profile. By swiping 100% of the time you have done nothing but prove that bottom tier trash on Tinder will swipe right on your chitty profile time and time again. If we could see the girls you matched with prior to and after deleting/recreating, we'd have a much better picture of what is happening.

I can say that I was exposed to a completely different set of women on Tinder after I deleted and recreated. When I had two profiles in tandem (one recreated, one fresh), only the fresh one appeared for a female friend despite her exhausting her stack.

Also, as a high level software engineer, I can say with 90% certainty that the Tinder developers are smarter than you. If you think they haven't put in ways to prevent habitual profile recreators from muddying up their top tier users' stacks then you are high. They have millions of dollars, they have millions of users. You really expect me, as someone who develops applications at a capacity similar to them, that they haven't put in failsafes to prevent obvious gaming of their rating system?

Dude honestly lol

valuable post. But does this mean that people with a lower ELO are perma-fked without any 2nd chance or option for a reset? I have been reported twice in the past... I am sure that sticks with me until today.

What do? Fresh FB + Fresh Tinder?

I still don't think swiping right on everyonecompletelyhurts you....

I was still matching 8-9/10s swiping right on everyone. Its all location dependent, and I think BOOST is the determining factor. In locations where there are more men with the resources to pay for boost (major US cities), it becomes harder to match hotter girls.

Go to a location in Europe with equally (if not more) hot women, and run boost. If you aren't ugly, you will match 4-5x the amount of hotties than you would offjust one boostalone than you would in a congested place like NYC, LA, Miami, etc runningmultipleboosts.

From an efficiency standpoint, I don't think you get that much extra value carefully swiping people vs. swiping right on everyone.

You could create a new, fresh account. Run a macro and swipe right on 60-70% of profiles. I guarantee you. You will still match the same quality as when you swiped right on everyone.

We know Tinder is not what it once was. However, in its current state, you can still bang 20+ women off the app in a year. Its not that hard. Now, it just requires more time and resources (money).

If Boost was around when they had the old algo, you could bang 100+ girls off this app in a year.

If you are over 5/10 and are fine with banging fatties.

OK, so let's get this straight: it's your one piece of anecdotal evidence, one time, versus 20+ cases of my anecdotal evidence over more than a year. Yeah, my studies may not pass a peer review, but my evidence is better than yours. Period. You kept no data and numbers other than your own subjective feelings about the quality of profiles you were seeing.

Tinder has never said they penalize deleting and recreating profiles.

Of course your ELO goes down if you swipe on everyone. That's not your argument. Your argument is that deleting and recreating your profile lowers your ELO score IMMEDIATELY. It doesn't.

Either prove this to everyone in the thread, or stop posting. Swiping 200 profiles with a new account/********/phone and then recreating the account and doing it again, while rating each girl from 1-10 and producing average ratings from both should be enough.

Again ... also depends where in europe. Some countries have a very specific type/taste of guy that is more successful than others. Any white tanned guys with respectable beard and ink? Big cities in Germany will get you tons of matches, otherwise absolutely no chance except of the odd exchange student here and there.

Edit: And why the fk am I "red"?

So I think my Tinder is glitched. My plus ran out a week ago but during the last couple of days, I have had a ton of swipes. Way more than 50. I think my swipes aren't registering as I am getting almost no matches and at one point I saw the same people I already swiped.

that happened to me a couple times as well. I suggest contacting support, as I am not sure a clean reinstall will do the trick.

Has anyone had the issue of messaging someone but they didnt receive the message at all?

You kept no data and numbers other than your own subjective feelings about the quality of profiles you were seeing.

Tinder has never said they penalize deleting and recreating profiles.

Of course your ELO goes down if you swipe on everyone. That's not your argument. Your argument is that deleting and recreating your profile lowers your ELO score IMMEDIATELY. It doesn't.

Either prove this to everyone in the thread, or stop posting. Swiping 200 profiles with a new account/********/phone and then recreating the account and doing it again, while rating each girl from 1-10 and producing average ratings from both should be enough.
do you know if theres any way to change your location with gps spoofer app still?? i tried but it doesnt seem to work.. any workarounds?

i want to try out a couple new pics before i start swiping in my area

an arbitrary attractiveness measure essentially

the more right swipes you get - the higher your ELO becomes - the more people see you - the more matches etc etc
comp best - 358/237/375 (162.5/107.5/170) - BDFPA 75kg (165lb) class
gym best - 398/265/440 (180/120/200) - @ 78kg

Had six matches out of maybe 150 swipes so far with this profile. Nobody left to swipe out in the middle of nowhere, one opened last night "truth or dare?" But I was out of service. With this one too... some of these girls are brainwashed af:

What say?

I'd just hard next, she is clearly just trying to have an argument with you.

Maybe: "I'm more into videos" ... just to keep the convo going?

...or you could try humour or just change the topic?

All you people that have only been on tinder the last two years have truly missed the golden age.

I was listening to a podcast with this guy who has a dating/hookup business where he helps guys get with girls and Tinder was like his main focus, the way he was talking it was clearly from the early days cause his advice was to swipe right on every girl (today that would wreck your ELO likely) and constantly delete his profile and start fresh (also would kill ELO).

Back in the day was gold though.

No Swipe limit
Easy to spoof with fake GPS app
Wasn't this huge movement to make it a legit dating site, many women used it for hookups with no pretense
Moments were amazing, so many girls would sloot t up with them and they were a good way to rekindle interest.
Wasn't yet commonly known that guys 7+ were easily giving it up to girls who were several points lower so chicks who were below average didn't have as high standards as they do now.
Profile throttling was far less prevalent.
Was a haven for sloots who have been wanting to unleash their inner sloot but didn't have a good avenue.

Man it was so good back then.
