My girl told me on the night we met that she tested positive years before but goes long times without symptoms. We used protection for the first few weeks but as I learned more I decided it wasn't that big of a deal. It can't be transmitted by blood so no need to worry about periods or cuts on your body. Once she had a small outbreak that lasted 3 or 4 days. We didn't have sex during that time and now it's been 6 months and as far as I know I don't have it. But even if I do it's not the end of the world. I have HSV1 already which is almost the same virus and I get a cold sore maybe once a year, if that.

Few doctors have the ability to test for it without an open sore. The test exists but from what I've read it's not that commonly available yet.

I actually said that if she wanted to pursue a relationship we could at least talk about trying to make it work. She has just broken up with her ex and said it was too soon to commit to a new one and she regretted that she sought me out so fast after becoming single but we could keep it casual and see where that went.

I'm at 20 so there's a good chance I've got it, yeah. There is a test but we have the worst healthcare in Europe (Sweden, RIP) so they don't test for it without symptoms.

Yeah after reading I decided it didn't seem that bad and I could actually consider risking it with the low rates of transmission on antiviral meds. But the sloot went absolute full potato before we even got to that point in the conversation so I did a 360 and walked away.

One of my best friends that was living with me tested positive for the herp when he was like 16 soon after only hooking up a few times. I felt terrible hearing him tell me lol. But he told me he never showed symptoms at all, so I read up on it a bit and come to find out the tests arent THAT accurate. For years i told him to get retested and he never did. He moved away like 6 years ago and he called me last year telling me he finally got tested again and it was negative...lol just lol....

That very well likely could be the case for this chick, i would have told her to get retested before making my decision.

Hard to believe that with the invention of google, there is still a **** ton of misinformation in here. YES, you can easily catch herpes when it is asymptomatic (aka no visible sores). And YES, any decent doctor will order an HSV1/2 test as part of a normal STD screen. I've had 5 or so STD tests in the last 10 years with different doctors here in the NY area, they all included HSV test as part of the normal STD checkup. And no, you don't want herpes because the sores are ****ing nasty, can cause deformations on the child during birth if the mother has it (C-section is done, IF the mother knows she has it), and there is a lot of research that ties herpes to dementia and alzheimers (not to mention the fact that Herpes is a disease for life, no cure as of yet). Approximately 25% of age 20-49 women have genital herpes in the US, and 20% of men from 20-49. If you're talking about black folks, that percentage is a bit higher, white folks, the percentage is significantly lower. Not everyone has it, far from it.

She got a bad outbreak when she caught it but after that has been symptom free. So I'm pretty sure she has it, she's in great health, works out and eats well etc and apparently that makes it less likely that you have breakouts. Apparently most people dont even know they have it cause breakouts are pretty rare.

She came to me last time she became single too, but I moved out of the country and apart from that we've been in other relationships so we never had the chance. We've talked a lot and we're good friends, so I think it could work. Not that it matters now though.
