We spent this week looking at houses in Allen and Plano, Texas, some amazingly big places for the money but the prices are certainly a lot higher than even a couple of years ago.

I cracked up when I noticed that the house next to the one for sale had put this on their driveway, right on the property border. I didn't see who lived there but I assume they were inside tweeting about Drumpf while the husband was out taking his wife's son to school.

In a classic leftist passive aggressive fashion they were trying to scare off potential buyers - I told the realtor (who was obviously horrified at the neighbors trying to sabotage sales) I want to buy that house just so I can hang a huge American flag and Blue Lives Matter sign on my front porch.

Yes on both.

I cant decide between a shiny new house with poverty yard or late 90's McMansion with a pool, huge yard but in need of 50k of modernizing.

The new one is perfect inside but the problem is the yard is right next to an intersection of 2 busy streets so it's noisy AF ... not worth putting in a pool or anything if I hate sitting outside

Personally I'd go the second one and spend 50k because of the noise, but that's 120k difference in price. Nothing to sneeze at. The first one looks awesome, but if the traffic is as bad as you say, then the backyard is practically unusable. Maybe it's certain times of day? Peak hour perhaps?

Love it. Buy it!

Immediately reminded me of Step Brothers when they did everything possible to sabotage their parents selling their home.

This is why it's a good idea to try different foods when you get the opportunity. Imagine getting to 80 and then finding out bacon was a thing?

the older one got dropped to 499k but yeah, it's still a big difference plus the stress of construction.

The new one is really tastefully done but there's a reason its selling for the same price they bought it for in 2015. I went in all excited because that's a big yard for a new house (the others have postage stamps) and was going to build a pool there - but the noise is brutal.

If we buy the new home then we'd need 50k for a pool and putting in a bunch of trees to block the neighbor and try to reduce road noise even more

The older home needs

New kitchen, same style as the new house - prob 25k at least. Need to tear down the Sopranos style breakfast bar and make it one bigger open plan area

Hardwood all though the ground floor because they have poverty carpet in there and some ugly fcking tiles - 10k

Master bathroom is trash in the old one, weird 90's non fuctional chit so even if we modernize it the floorplan will always be autistic

The older house is also 7 miles further away from my work (the other one is 6 miles, this is about 13) but this is nothing compared to my horrific commute from Oakland to silicon valley

Noise is a no go.
Of those 2 I'd go with fhe older one and a remod. The remod looks like from the pics would be about 75k

But 0.39 acres? I'd keep shopping some.

One option on a move that far- climate controlled storage- 6 month rent somwwhere to get the know the area and find the best situation to buy.

Man up and do the upgrades yourself you sissy. Now you only have to pay for materials.

Just kidding.

The way I see it, if its really down to those two, if you remodel at least you get to choose how its done so you get exactly what you want. You'll never be able to change the location of the other one.

Nah, you won't dead but too much protein is hard to digest for most people.. If you're getting enough fiber though, that keeps the inside of your colon shiny and new, and you won't have a problem - other than having to buy a lot of toilet paper.

I had to learn that the hard way once.. Had a job that was 100% travel, and I'd eat out on the company credit card. So fukit, if I wasn't paying for it then it then Outback Steakhouse every. Single. Night. And after about a week I felt like I was about to give birth.

Fiber is your friend though - always. I do vegetable smoothies now which gives me enough, but every now and then I'll clean the pipes with this..

Thanks bro. I started taking a fiber supplement. Very generic and plain fiber

So is all fiber equal? Basically, can i get my daily dosage from that supplement alone for the most part? And how much should i get in? Also, does it matter if i get all my fiber in a single go?

LMAO trust me, you'll absolutely positively KNOW when you're getting enough!

But yeah, its all the same more or less.. If you use a supplement, what you want is it use psyllium husk as the source. But start with one glass a day or whatever, and then increase it if you think you need to. Its all natural so you can't OD on it.. Do drink a lot of water though.

WTF.. have you ever drank a glass of water in your entire life? Nothing clogs up with me other than the plumbing in my house from all the big beautiful dumps I take.
