Why is it that people who are well travelled think they are superior beings?

Anyone else ever noticed this?

Some NEET goes backpacking around the world for a year and when they return they have somehow metamorphasized into a condescending, know-it-all bore. As if somwhow, all the billions and billions of people who have lived and died in the history of man are in some way inferior to this magnificent specimen who has ridden on the back of a tour guide's moped in Cambodia.

They remind me a bit of those women who never shut up about being pregnant for the first time, as if they're the only person in the history of man to carry child.

I know what you mean, always some ******* who wasted 3 years at uni studying art or drama & now are 'travelling' in Thailand sleeping in hotels for a month or two..

Them kunts are the ones who shake their heads at you when you say something factual and try to tell you that you're wrong in the most patronising way possible.

.. I'm not mad, I promise.

Most people get big heads after doing literally anything these days so I'm sure most people get a massive ego after traveling a bit. I never brag about my travels and usually only bring it up when asked about places or whatever. BE HUMBLE BREH

Because they hated the last 10 years of their life, finally enjoyed 1 year, spent 4 years worth of money, and got nothing out of it except the stories you hear.

Those are egocentric idiots, they are not all the same. Some are more self aware and just genuinely friendly.

It makes you look at the world in a different way, opens your perspective....

which makes you think you're more "cultured" than people who still live in the same town they were born in and shout "merica" whilst drinking their bud light and struggling to make their payments on that new 2017 Camaro

Yes, because you were actually in the present, not having an anxiety attack about not taking pics for fb

Never felt the need to go travelling around the world, can;t stand half of the people in my family let alone the town. Been on the receiving end of what you;re on about and I ask them why they spent all that money and time to find out they're a dick when they could've just come seen me for 2mins and I wouldn't charge.

Well, that's because they are.

Exposure to other cultures propels you in your understanding of the world.

have had conversations with people who always travel.....

they can only talk about how amazing the experience was or how good the food was for so long before they start sounding repetitive, and then start to sound like they are coping for spending money on a trip that has already gone and pass, that nobody truly cares to hear about

Just ignore hipsters and liberals
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. Being an actual world traveler and not just a tourist on holiday is one of the most transformative experiences a person can go through. I wouldn't say world travelers are "better" people because nobody is better than anyone else, but you could easily make that argument!

There is a high correlation between these types of people and use of social media... so it's ain't that bad... there are pics and smart hashtags/ tweet that last forever!

You can say this about ANY purchase though. You work for money, you spend it then the purchase gets boring and no one cares to hear about it.

not sure why they're like that, but maybe it's because they feel lucky to be able to travel. I think it's important to be able to venture off to different parts of the world and experience other places besides home

Major cope. The only thing worse than 'well travelled' pseudohippie trustafarians are small town simpletons that say travelling is pointless

I'm moderately well travelled and most of my best life experiences were when travelling. I honestly do think it made me a better more interesting person. However I would never talk about it unless with a fellow superior being or someone who specifically asked......

while you can do anything you want with money, talking to people about how fantastic your vacation trip was is no where near the same as sharing the experience of taking say for a example someone out for a cruise in a new sports car you bought. people will gravitate more towards someone who can share their experiences with, not just hear about it from one person to another, strong lack of context.

I wouldn't call myself well traveled, but I have been to ~12 countries, and every major city in the US outside of Boston and Houston. I'm not one of those people that goes to a city and just does the tourist attractions, I try to find local things to do...catch a football match, eat at the corner delis, go to a hole in the wall music venue...

What I have gained from travel is perspective. I've done more traveling 29-36 than I did 0-29. It has opened my eyes to a lot of things and made me realize how small-minded I was previously. Different nuances and customs in cultures are more pronounced than I knew. I had the "everywhere is the same, I will just vacation to the beach" mindset when I was younger. Now you couldn't pay me to waste a vacation day doing that.

Came in to say this. I'm Merica just like anyone else, but once my perspective was opened by traveling. Things changed for the better

When I hear someone talking about other countries that they have never been to especially when they were born in a small town in Texas and never left 2 feet outside of their barn. I instantly put myself above them.
