He had sickle cell anemia all his life and he was on tour in Vegas. The heat exacerbated the sickle cell issues and probably died from complications from that.

These two newscasters always pay tribute to the old school artists. They did one for Biggie and Phife Dog as well.

Definitely a sad year for music.

I also am a bit surprised that how so many people are showing love to P.

I even had this goofy developer I used to work with that was in his late 30s like my FB comment about Prodigy.

Crazy how music resonates with so many people like that.

Havoc is one of the best producers of the mid 90s. The dark production and hard drums and snares in his production HNNNGGG.

But I was thinking...it's was so great that Alchemist started producing a few songs for them too.

Early mobb deep beats to me are just the classic New York sound.
Yeah I remember getting 'blood money' which had some different production. Obviously not their most acclaimed cd but I liked it

I mean Alchemist production on stuff like Return Of The Mac and on some tracks like Win or Lose and Hold You Down.

Alchemist is pretty minimum.

Blood Money was meh. I just remember some songs and Pearly Gates how P went anti-religious on that verse.

I have just been re listening to 'blood money' for the first time in years and yeah I gotta agree. Few good tracks though.
Looking through turns out havoc actually did do most of the production on that album. Pretty much all the best songs on it anyway

The Yankees were even playing shook ones before the game the other day. Prodigy really was a NY legend.
All of my older friends talk about how crazy the tunnel was when mobb deep, lox, or dmx would come on.

Oh wow. Mobb Deep have to be in my top 10 rap groups of all time. Lots of great songs but one that probably hasnt been mentioned is "it's mine". It's to the beat of the Scarface theme. Always hyped me up. Can't forget drop a gem on 'em either, even though Tupac is my fav rapper of all time lol.
