Eat more
People who do not have this illness do not understand "eat more", it's the scariest thing that someone can say. Assuming this poster has disordered eating (which most people suffer from in the Western world, any diet falls into the disordered eating category) or a DSM-5 Eating Disorder (which a small % have). There is a difference between the two. Not even a professional can diagnose someone from just online. I just have been in groups with ED people for the past 20 years so I can usually spot a fellow DLB a mile away.

It's just like I don't understand migraines because I don't get them.

Not necessarily, when I witnessed refeeding myself, as well as with other anorexics in the ED hospital, I didn't gain at all at 2,500 calories.

At that level my body was just making up for the starvation for several weeks and just maintained. Then the Dr increased up food intake on the hospital order form. I had to get up to 3,000 for weight gain, and that was with exercise restriction. I saw others go up to well more than that, but they were sneaking in exercise as we did go home at night. We ate our meals at the hospital and my home wasn't safe so I went to my Grandmother's house.

A guys should be around 0.90 for maximum aesthetics and as an indicator of health
A WHR of 0.9 for men and 0.7 for women has been shown to correlate strongly with general health and fertility. Women within the 0.7 range have optimal levels of estrogen and are less susceptible to major diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disorders and ovarian cancers.[22] Women with high WHR (0.80 or higher) have significantly lower pregnancy rates than women with lower WHRs (0.70–0.79), independent of their BMIs.[23] Men with WHRs around 0.9, similarly, have been shown to be more healthy and fertile with less prostate cancer and testicular cancer.[24]

Oh great, my waist to hip ratio is over .8. I had zero problems getting pregnant though and it happened within 2 months at age 33.

This thread blew up while I was at family gatherings and two dudes were banned. Wow.

Confirmed troll. Says eats 2500 calories unless you are exercising 3-4 hours a day.

Most models do suffer have eating disorders. That isn't rocket science.

Now I do agree that Asians tend to be naturally smaller boned. I just have a tough time believing that you eat 2,500 calories a day without overexercising, as does kimm4 and others ITT.

And to be honest, it's quite rude to call someone you don't even know, mentally ill.

Very salty because I tried to help out a fellow ED sufferer and she just flipped out. But hey, at least I tried.

Many people have to hit rock bottom before they seek professional help. I know in the Asian community seeing a therapist is frowned upon though, so I can understand that.

Most men refuse to even seek professional help/therapy because they see it as a sign of weakness.

Most actually don't. Most of the ones I know and work with at least. High fashion models are not the most common type of model. most models are commerical models (those betches u see on instagram) "most models do have eating disorders" let me guess u read that in Cosmo or something.

Yas I was successfully eating 2500 calories when I was working out 4 days a week when I first started, which is how I made so much progress in such little time. It's really not hard to do. (example: oatmeal and protein for breakfast, the habit for lunch, hummus for a snack, protein drink, panera for dinner with a smoothie, pasta or rice for my uni dinner (don't wanna waste my meal), and some snacks at night (tacos, waffles, some protein) and maybe some leftovers. Smoking made it easier to reach this goal, i got the munchies hard. I haven't smoked in a while so I haven't been meeting my calorie goal. Now, I'm probably only eating barely 2000 calories, probably less, while working out.
I haven't been keeping track of calories and my progress has plateaued because of it.

and it's rude to assume i'm mentally ill based on my weight.

No I didn't read that in Cosmo, I modeled back in my 20s and I saw enough and heard enough stories to see how people actually keep themselves thin. Usually smoking and other drugs mixed with starvation. The modeling industry is so full of eating disorders that it's up there with gymnastics and wrestling.

Bingo: smoking

There is your thin drug: nicotine.

Your calories are also most likely way less than you assume. Most people do not count calories accurately at all. Usually people are off by 500 calories a day or more, especially when using myfitnesspal.

I posted earlier that I cannot diagnose an eating disorder just solely based on weight. Did you not see that? Where are you getting that I am calling you mentally ill?

I just posted a helpful link out there because I felt like you were being attacked ITT when people were saying to eat more, and I know from with people with anorexia that it's terrifying to eat more.

I was standing up for you, and you attacked me. Nice.

"Now, I'm probably only eating barely 2000 calories, probably less, while working out."

That, along with smoking, and most likely overexercising, is why you are underweight. However, in the modeling world being underweight is encouraged and applauded.
