But seriously OP, the feeling does come and go, especially at night. That's life bro. As much as you don't want to hear that you have a job and you're not homeless, just try and put it in perspective. Tomorrow is a new day, you wake up and the sun is shining. That's not too bad.

I went out paddle boarding on the lake today. Tons of hot women everywhere. I didn't feel like talking to anyone so it was just me and my thoughts. Felt good. The sun shining on you while you're on the water and it's calm and super quiet....it's perfect.

Tonight I led a night hike for a class I teach. 11 students. One of them is a cancer patient who's trying to recover. She signed up for the class so she could watch the full moon and hike around people and get to know them. It was pretty cool.

Perspective is everything man. I was on the water paddling away thinking about life one second and a few hours later I'm listening to a cancer patient talk about how she wants to get into nature and enjoy it for all its worth. A good snap back to reality.

Anyway else think we should come up with a better term than, "men going their own way"?

My problem with the term MGTOW is that it reeks of butt hurt. It's men attempting to put a positive spin/angle on something that's really just pure cope; it's not too dissimilar to feminism in that regard.

There's nothing good or noble about MGTOW; there's nothing to be proud of in the slightest. MGTOW is simply what you turn to when you continually can't find a good partner who you can start a family with n' all that good chit.

Obviously something like, "coping strategies for men who struggle finding suitable partners" isn't anywhere near as sellable though.

Coping strategy only applies to this movement if it's tenets are false. You gotta ask yourself:
Do women only find 15% of men attractive?
If so, when they get married, what's the likelyhood of them settling?
Even if they aren't settling the divorce rate is high today, which means you have a high probability of losing everything in the settlement. (Custody, alimony, etc.)
MGTOW simply opts out of what is believed to be a rigged system.

As for Otaku, who told you that you need another person to make you happy? You'll cite scientific studies on the effects of loneliness, but ultimately it comes down to belief. And I believe that when you surrender control of your happiness to someone else, disaster results. I don't need to belong to anyone. I live a simple life, pursue my own interests, go out alone, travel alone. I'm ok with this. Do what you were doing, man. Be open to anything that comes along. But don't put stock into anyone but you.

This is my exact point... none of that chit you've just said really matters and is just mental masturbation/coping.

MGTOW spends it's time preaching to men about how unfair the system is as a means to distract men from their loneliness, or to make them feel better about their loneliness... but it's pure spin! Pretty much all men would rather have a stable and loving partner in their lives, regardless of how fukin' rigged the system is.

MGTOW is a neutral term. Regardless of the reasons to join the 'movement'. Even if it's just men 'checking' out due to poor return on investment, their still going their own way regardless.

Maybe...

Strictly speaking it's a neutral term, but I personally think it carries pseudo alpha / egotistical connotations.

It really reminds me of the expression "I'm taking my ball away and going home", which my parents used a lot when I was a kid.

Of course. All men want stable and loving partners. But is it likely? It's more than simple cope. Coping to me represents a falsehood of sorts. A distortion of reality. It's why I asked if you believed the statistics I pointed out. If you don't believe them to be true, then yeah I can see how you believe it to be mental masturbation. But if it isn't...then you stand more to lose than gain as a man in an LTR or marriage.its not like the kid who is bad at video games and throws the controller and quits. It's the kid who knows his friend is using a handicap to win the game, and decides not to play at all. This to me, seems to be the heart of the movement.

That is just absurd...I applaud your courage, but to be frank, what a wast of phuckin' time/attention to people who don't deserve it.
I went out with her last night. She was all over me from the jump. Had my tongue in her mouth 15 mins into the date. Real cute face and banging body on a petite frame (I love caribbean girls). Left the bar. We smoked bud, and got in my car..she sat on my dick..rubbin that pussy and her nips..lickin her neck..ready to smash (at this point I'm always blunt...i always tell girls I wanna **** them/eat that pussy). No smash tho. She was feeling a lil sick all night, but still wanted to go out with me, cause she cancelled the last time. How thoughtful. I'm already digging this girl. Wouldn't mind having her on the team.

edit: btw I only spent literally $5 on her all night, she didn't drink..just got her icecream

I might have a date with a next girl tonight from one of the #s I got last weekend. Another caribbean girl and she's banging to. Hopefully I get it in.

I didn't even hit on any girls this week. These are the residuals from last week's 25-30 girls I approached lol. Even that escort texted me this week out of nowhere, saying she's down to chill when she comes back into town lol.

+I got a new f/t job, and $1,200 to pay off my credit card. Now I can finally start saving and move out my parents crib this summer.
Just a wave of luck been coming my way lately.

Kobe.

MGTOW = MSTOW (men sent their own way)

Just lol if you think modern cosmopolitan women care if non-chads are removing themselves from the dating pool.

What do you guys use as a playlist when working or working from home?

I need motivation to go back to doing productive stuff after work, while at home

Found out about synthwave (from following playlists after lystening to Kavinsky - nightcall).

This is actually quite nice for computer based work :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O3cZ3M4hAo

stuff such as Kavinsky, Magic Sword, Power Glove, The Outrunners and Perturbator

I guess this is where we disagree.

To me, I think the former is the heart of the movement, which is to say it's a bunch of men who're bad at videogames and have thrown their controllers down and quit. The latter, i.e. men who recognise there's a handicap and decide not to play at all, is how MGTOWers like to dress it up...

Overall, my opinion is that you put too much stock in the movement. I think it's peppered with some truths and interesting perspectives, but you gotta take it all with a pinch of salt and avoid becoming fanatical about it...

THIS.

This is actually along the lines of what I was talking about...

Men end up in the MGTOW camp after they get burned, so to my mind men are "sent" in that direction rather than voluntarily "going".

It's still a voluntarily "going" no matter which way you put it. There are a large enough percentage of men who get burned day in day out, whom still mass swipe on tinder or add girls on FB in a chance they're passive game will get good results, and often to no avail. You can call this group 'quitting' or 'giving up' but that's pretty much the core of the movement and no true MGTOWer will deny that this is looking at the odds and deciding to not participate.

I made a thrash/speed metal playlist to keep me going during all-nighters (I'll pull pry 2 a month at school - feelsbadman remembering I have to go back to that). Now that I've got dat dere work commute, I turned it into a really heavy mix to drive to.

This is about half of it.

Spoiler!

I've been trying to update it with some more really heavy stuff (brb less Disturbed and more Venom), but all the fukkin torrent sites went down and I can't steal any more high quality MP3s.

Lofi is like...a weird hip hop spin off. I honestly cannot explain it other than it been very clam serene jazz type beats

And for all those asking what we call it? MGTOW, MSTOW, Copers Anonymous. Idk man. Also my bros are posting more and more of their screenshotted text messages in our group chat. Basically I want to see what they are doing and what Im not doing. And they really arent doing much of anything. Girls text them first, and respond positively to almost anything they say. They are decent looking dudes, but not models or etc by any means. Women just do all the work for them. Used one of their pics in my area. Black guy. Got like 20 matches in a few days, and girls messaging him.

Why do anything. I mean why do anything when its all about the face.

I agree with you there, however I think it's dangerous to over identify with any movement. As you've said though, there are some interesting perspectives there. It's just that people tend to generalize, thinking the movement is just a bunch of losers who can't get laid. It's more than that. The divorce statistics are what's most compelling to me, and as such MGTOW becomes more pragmatic rather than some cult that I would blindly follow. It encourages being who you are and not changing things to suit someone else, about self identification and pursuit of ones own interest. It's when they get into swearing off female contact altogether that I get wary.

Agreed. No human contact whatsoever seems to cause problems. Prisoners find solitary confinement to be the worst of punishment. But you have that, right? You have friends coworkers, etc. A girlfriend is what you want. You have all the human contact you need. I understand your difficulty, and I wish there was something that could be done to help. Your case baffles me.

I have friends that are there for me at all times. However an emotional/sexual relationship is still needed.

It sounds crazy, but this image right here? The most at peace you will ever be. You hear the wind blow, smell the environment, hear the insects, birds, animals. You know the guys to your left and right are willing to risk it all for you. Mission and purpose is clear, laid out, and thats it

Image won't load but your words do justice. Brotherhood. Camaraderie. Very hard to find in the civilian world. I think one of our problems is that social media/cellphones have removed the "know all the peeps on the block" community that was once the norm. We are all more isolated than ever despite the great advances we've made with tech.
That's what's great about the military, that sense of brotherhood and family persists despite all of the above.

MGTOW isn't really 'coping'. Coping strategies are outright denials of reality. For example, "I think that the culture of smartphones has actually made chicks more receptive to in person cold approachs". That's coping.

I hear you brah. I've been out for some time now and no matter what I do, I still have that empty feeling that is filled by exactly what you're talking about.

He's into anime he would get the reference, lighten up.

Coping strategies are simply ways of managing some kind of stress or hardship... whether they happen to be delusional or honest isn't part of the definition.

Congrats on the weight loss otaku...as for me I fell all the way off since 4th of July, so far it's been a whole week since I hit the gym. Diet has been pretty ****ty too, feels like I'm averaging 1500cals of straight horsesh-t this past week. I definitely need to get my sh-t together.

Started my new job this and for the life of me I just can't understand how I'm doing so bad with women. Based off my performance with women you'd think I'm socially awkward, quiet and beta but somehow everyone laughs at my jokes/ seems to think I'm cool. I'm not even being that funny/outspoken IMO. Miscers are always saying that if you're a normal guy who acts normal you'll get laid, but that's clearly a myth. I was over it but this week really has me wondering wtf is going on considering I meet all of the "requirements". I don't really get lonely anymore though, I'm used to it at this point tbh.

You know if I lived on a lake and could go paddle boarding anytime I'd be happy too...

Kobe.
Lucky you. It's funny you mention the Kobe, cause earlier today I was just thinking about how terrible my luck with women is and the whole miss 100% of the shots you don't take mentality. I saw this girl that reminded me of this hot white girl I met one night...she was laughing at every word I said, being very touchy and when her friend tried introducing her to some other guy she ended up coming back over and continuing the conversation. Ended up losing her that night before I got the number and looked her up on ******** but at the last second I thought it'd be creepy considering I'd recently done the same thing to a couple of other girls and got no response. There's a couple of girls that I hit it off well with, but didn't go through with pursuing because of recent rejections. Maybe they would've rejected me too, but when I think of our interactions I really feel like something decent would've came out of it. I haven't really approached in a while and only (rarely) meet girls through friends... today had me feeling like maybe I should really take 100% of the chances I get.

I really like this.

Lofi is where its at brah...check out atf on soundcloud, he has tons of songs like this. This same station got me through 2 hours+ of finance hwk a couple of weeks ago

I know it's hard to feel like this but from what I remember your face is normal and your not an ugly guy, didn't you have a job where girls would gaggle about you? I feel like it's more of the black guy sounding "white" thing. In my experience girls seem into me until they hear me speak. There are a couple who accept it, but more often then not they want someone with some semblance of being hood
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.
