Dame - Herb Man

I've had 3 of these little .5 splash vial samples rolling around my decant drawer for more than a year and never really worn it. Maybe I sniffed the vial once or twice in the past and wasn't overly impressed but I decided to give it a proper wearing today. Herb Man suffers from what I call Great Fragrance, Fkn Stupid Ass Name or GFFSAN.

"Herb Man". Really? Herb. Man.

Douchey name aside, this is a fantastic scent and does not come off herbal at all. It's a bright, clean, spring/summer, woody floral delight. It has a very nice, attractive opening and smells like a barbershop or irish spring or something like this. Kind of soapy, but not obnoxious. Friendly and inviting.

Performance wise, I had to splash the vial into my hand and gently rub it around my neck area because it didn't have a sprayer on it, so longevity may be suspect throughout the day. But projection seems very good for an EDC concentration. The silage is nice as I noticed it getting on and off the elevator this morning at work. I think if you like GIT, you would probably like this.

Happy almost Fri-yay brahs!! Here is a pickup from yesterday, and today's SOTD:



I've seen this described as a "pretty" scent, and I cannot agree with that more. Right out of the gate, it's a hefty dose of mandarin and blackcurrant, backed by a very realistic fluffy, creamy marshmallow note. A beautiful note of jasmine comes out after an hour or so, followed by the classic musk which lends a familiar vibe to others from Bond. I found myself surprised at just how well done the orange note is. It's one of the most true-to-life oranges I've come across since getting into the game.

It doesn't have quite the "fun factor" that I get from Chinatown, but it's strong enough to take over the #2 spot (bumping High Line to #3) in my Bond No. 9 collection.

Keep it 100 brahs.

So I was at Crocker Park the other day on an epic 38mile bike Odyssey, and I walked into Sephora much to my delight to find most of the Replica line being hosted there.

For anyone seeking to delve into this house, I only have one bit of advice for you—pepper you angus. Among the entire line, the only halfway decent ones were Beach Walk, Flower Market, and Lazy Sunday Morning. Tea Escape could have been an honorable mention, but only the opening is good, and then it quickly dries down into to a very stale essence.

Beach Walk was probably the best, then Flower Market, then Lazy Sunday Morning...but they are also pretty strong on the feminine lean as well...so not much luck here with this house for the boys.

For the all hype, I was beyond words at how awful Jazz Club and By the Fireplace was. There wasn't really anything tobacco or boozy about Jazz Club. It was a very bland, linear, medium bodied melange, with no sense of style or attractiveness to it at all. What is this? I don't even.

By the Fireplace basically smelled like a stripped down version of Every Storm a Serenade Imaginary Authors. It has all the fresh qualities removed, with only the presence of this awkward aromachemical, that unmistakably is not chestnut, and by itself doesn't do much except invoke the thought of burning people and make you feel very uncomfortable.

If you've been interested in this house, I strongly recommend checking out your local Sephora and seeing if they have them on display. You can see what I mean for yourself and possibly save yourself a lot of trouble sampling them one by one.

Good sheit. I was singing LI's praises last summer or fall when I was given a handful of samples from the fine folks at Saks. It's sweet, but obnoxiously so. Where does Scent of Peace rank on your Bond scale?
