Many of the tortoise's subspecies are now listed as endangered or critically endangered, and have been strictly protected by the Ecuadorian government since 1970. Captive breeding efforts by the Charles Darwin Research Station are also having positive effects.

Behavior

Galápagos tortoises lead an uncomplicated life, grazing on grass, leaves, and cactus, basking in the sun, and napping nearly 16 hours per day. A slow metabolism and large internal stores of water mean they can survive up to a year without eating or drinking.

Spanish sailors who discovered the archipelago in 1535 actually named it after the abundant tortoises; the Spanish word for tortoise is galápago.

I never said they're not quality posters. As you said, some probably are. I don't know, I don't follow them. But it doesn't change the fact that even at subconscious level they use their gender as advantage and they love attention both positive and negative. Especially in a place like this, full of right-wing bro-males where all comments are 100x potent. It keeps their wheels spinning. Miscers are more bitter than usual lately. I'd rather see an ass thread with people chatting and posting funny chit than a thousand "misc rate this guys mandible" threads. People rather the misc be a depressing cesspool than see funny chit. You'd rather rate men's hairline and jaw bones than see women post ass pics and participate in a little friendly flirting? I really hope they make a red pill section and all of you ****** can post all of that nonsense there.

Edit: and misc is a shadow of it's former self. It will never go back to how it used to be, so enjoy what it is now. There's no real locker room talk anymore because most of the good posters have been banned or left because this place was overrun by look ism *******s.
