that's a rough course load. Engineering is great though you're gonna do great once it's all done. Wish I would have went back to school. Started for CS but never finished due to cost but it's all paid off now so I can take loans out again. Might go back for something either physics or engineering related or medical. Haven't really decided. I don't wanna go back until I'm 100% on a set path.

I've thought about going that route because it seems super diverse. If I do end up going back I'm gonna have to pinpoint exactly what I want to do. Great thing about an engineering degree though is it's pretty much accepted across the board so you're not pidgeon holed or anything. Especially if you minor in business or finance. Right now I'm really digging sales but the inconsistency and interference with my BB lifestyle is kind of killing it for me. I'll definitely do more research.

Yeah exactly, they even have sales engineers fella. Probably close to what you're doing now you just gotta have some engineering knowledge of your product etc.

Yeah that would Ben pretty sick. If I could get something with a base and commission structure I'd be golden. The whole straight commision can be rough. Some weeks I don't even get a call to go to so I don't get a check. It evens out but it's stressful. What field do you work in?

Yeah I know some sales boyos, my brother started selling cars at a dealership (completely different but still lol) he's moved up lots and does sales still but I'm not sure exactly what it is he does now. I'm also unsure how sales engineers work, almost applied for a position but I was unsure because I'm awkward and autismo. I'm personally in the oilfeild, though I tried getting into the medical field.

Yeah if you're not comfortable with people I wouldn't recommend sales. I drive to strangers houses and hang out with them for a few hours while explaining everything. It's mostly scripted but that's more of a basis for the flow. I'd have fallen flat in my face if I couldn't build legit relationships. The oilfield is something I've seriously considered. I have connections down in Texas at a pretty big refinery through a family friend who can get me in. I just need to make a phone call. I'd start on a rig but the whole lifestyle has always intrigued me. It seems like all you do is work lift eat and sleep but everyone there is a straigt hard ass and it'd be like a mental test at first and stuff like that has always intrigued me.

Lol yeah I don't think I'd be good at that. I mean I can try to be somewhat normal and just be good enough, but to be good enough for sales? Not so sure. I don't even think I'd be able to sell you your next breath of air. Consider it mane, I'm in fracing. Almost got hired on a rig but took this job instead. Everyone I work with is cool as **** though. Tbh it's like being in high school again lol just working with some fellas, goofing off all day. That kind of atmosphere if it makes sense. I work 2 weeks on 1 off, stay at a hotel and can cook my own food and hit the gym. Pretty sweet deal.

That sounds great honestly. I know I'd be able to work my way up too which would be great. I just miss having a job I can just go to perform the tasks and get paid. I have to fight for every dollar I earn which while it's really rewarding it also limits you in a lot of ways. Mainly in the fact that I wanna cut and I wanna be able to have a bad day once in a while or just feel however and it not affect my check. Having to be cheery all the time doesn't sound hard but it gets exhausting when you have to do it every day no matter what is going on. It gets stressful.

I should talk to my mom though. She's got the number for the girl. She is on the board in the corporate office along with her husband so they have some pretty serious pull.

Exactly, my cousin started at the bottom, worked his way up to supervisor within a year or so and now his base pay is $140k as of right now or it was a while back I'm sure he still makes good money. That **** does sound stressful, there is comfort in knowing what you're going to work for, completing your job, then going back home. I guess that's one of the perks of a regular job, though some can tend to get tired of that as well. What city or area is the refinery in?

I wanna say Dallas but I am pretty sure that's wrong. I'd have to ask. I would love to move down there though. Illinois is like a black hole. Everyone who stays here just seems miserable and the weather is terrible lol. I have a lot of friends that moved down there and love it. Plus I have an old flame down in Texas that I never quite finished things up with. She started doing crossfit and got in awesome shape since I had seen her last.
