L'Eau d'Issey Intense.

Didn't like it too much at first, but it's really grown on me. That and it's one out of 2 perfumes that have gotten me unsolicited compliments from multiple women.

SOTD: Aqva Amara Bvlgari with a few sprays of Atlantica by Odyssey Dilis

The composition includes accords of Sicilian mandarin mixed with oil of neroli flower. The base notes are Indonesian patchouli and white incense olibanum.


Top notes are labdanum, nutmeg, ginger, sandalwood and patchouli; middle notes are mint, jasmine, grapefruit, citruses and vetiver; base notes are olibanum, cedar and pink pepper.

They are real good. A bit pricey, but worth it if you can get them on sale. I use them at night and they smell like the dry down of the frags if i dont have anything else on. The presentation is 10/10 too.

I dig it. Im new to all this so it's definitely the woodsy/thick frag. It warmed up a lot today (started mid 50s, now mid 80s) so I can definitely tell how heavy it is right now.

It's nothing like the Intense version at all. It was an entirely different fragrance the first time around, then mysteriously the second time, I could definitely pick-up some Polo Red-esque essence from the heart of it. Really weird. You might like it, just saying it's probably not a safe blind buy. Decant worthy at most to me.

What I can tell you IS a safe blindbuy is this Dua Caribbean Mojito and Matrix combo. I'm not normally into layering fragrances, but both seems to suffer longevity issues. So I decided on a whim to combine them, and this is absolutely heavenly. You get robust citrus zest, Corona lime, fresh leafy spearmint, and raw sugar cane bursting the spirit of summer.

I still think it suffers some longevity issues though, which is really weird for an Extrait de Parfum. Maybe Mahsam is having business troubles over there, and his workers are cutting the fragrance oils with carrier oils before they mix them. It could also be due to Mahsam not compounding his accords. The process of compounding uses fixatives (such as benzoin, elemi, and ambergris tincture) to fuse the molecules together, thus creating bigger molecules that carry more weight and are more resistant to breakdown.

Hard to say which it is though. And even so, this combo is so good, I don't even mind having to re-apply it every few hours like an Eau de Cologne.
