Even after watching this and not get charged because he was an "ex-cop" he still didnt pay the $18 parking fee, that should be a theft charge. Hope valet guy sues him and gets his douchemobile in the process although its probably financed for $600.month

This is exactly why I hate some ******* cops. Dude was in a valet polo at work lol

Imagine all the chit that cops get away with when not captured on camera. By default cops always win when there is no video evidence. Even this case where there were bystanders and video proof the cop got away scott free.

Maybe the bolded is true, maybe not. Either way, claiming it was 'instinct' wouldn't fly as a defense for any other citizen, why should it for this guy? Total bs.

Lol in my original post I flat out said it wasn't justified and that it was in fact assault. Dude's not a cop so he can't make any claims like that. He's just a civilian, and a person putting their hands in their pockets isn't an action that provokes self-defense.

In the video I saw the valet get socked in the face after sticking his hands in his pockets, then the ex-swat dude rummaged through the pockets. I assumed he was looking for an item based on the actions overall. Did people think he was robbing the valet? I mean he could've been, but that seems very unlikely to me. To me it looked like the guy was checking the valet for a weapon or something. Like a cop typically does.

one report or something said since it was a "misdemeanor" and no officer was present when it happened and the witnesses didnt directly see it, that they cant do anything or arrest anyone. and normally they dont investigate/follow up on misdemeanors, but since the outcry is big they found the tape and are gonna look into it...

In some states (Massachusetts) police cannot make an arrest for a misdemeanor if it was not committed in their presence. Not sure if that is the case where this assault took place. So even though there is video and witnesses all that can be done is file a complaint with the Court for a hearing. Sucks if your the victim, good deal if your'e the puncher.

Ive lived in Cali, Georgia, Florida, and Washingon and Florida is by far a superior state. except for the average driver, they suck.

Anyone with a functioning brain can watch that video and see that the puncher was agitated and acting as the aggressor.

That was an unprovoked assault, plain and simple. You're a retard for thinking it was some kind of reflexive defensive action.

what valet charges $18 fking dollars? Ive used probably 50 valets in my life, never been charged $18. Most are like $5 or just a tip

Thats robbery, and he had the right to defend himself.
