Obviously, living in said areas is not for poor bastards like me, but that doesn't that away from the fact that London is quite great.
Source: lived there in a neighbourhood full of muslim immigrants for some time (not saying that immigation is not an issue there, but still). No problems at all, and enjoyed my stay.

People WANT to live, work and holiday there, therefore it's expensive. If it was rubbish, no one would come.
Such logic is pointless on the misc though

In on daily UK bashing thread. If you're not a peasant London is near enough the greatest city in world.
There are many things I dislike about it, and I would personally want to live there, but in terms of its history and "things to do" it's the best city in the world.

London is chit if you don't have money and live in immigrant ghetto areas.
For a metropolitan though its a great city if you have money. Full of great restaurants and nice clubs/pubs to go out, lots of internationals and if you're bored there's guaranteed always something going on somewhere
In general though I'm not a fan of metropolitans... but still, London is far far better than NYC

A lot more to London than a "clock tower" and "a ferris wheel" anyway.

I dont think the US puts the UK on a pedestal
But I won't deny that when it comes to the arts, specifically music, even their pop artists like styles, horan, and adele absolutely chit on anything the US has to offer
US fashion sense is leagues better though imo. I feel the US gets underrated in terms of style of dress

There's a big difference between living in a nice, wealthy area vs the ghetto of any city.
No disrespect to the Americans on this forum, I really like Americans, but most of you are incapable of appreciating things like architecture, culture, history, etc, so it doesn't surprise me that a lot of people don't like London.
Although, it is true that it's not the place it was 40 years ago though

The worst thing about London is the modern buildings. Srs. Fuk modern architecture.

There was a thread on here today about trainers/sneakers. Fukking lol at the trainers you muricans wear, look like you're going on holiday to the moon with your weird arse space boots.
Like I say, I love America and Americans but fukking lol at your fashion sense or complete lack of it.

London should be good in about 50 years from now, after the Muslims burn it down and make it look like Detroit...
That's when I'll be buying up houses in the center of London for 2k pounds or less.

I lived there for 3 years. Loved every day of it, but I was making bank.
I prefer living in San Diego now, but I definitely miss London and will go back there one day. The weather does suck though, but when the sun is out it's amazing in the parks. HBB everywhere (not Brits though)
