Try actually watching the video and the ex-swat guy's actions. Also, if and when you ever learn how to read, try going back and re-reading my replies where I in fact point out that what the guy did to the valet was assault and that it was in no way justified. All I did was say that, in context, based on the series of actions in the video was that ex-swat guy reacted -after- the valet put his hands into his pockets. Then after committing assault, the ex-swat guy checked the valet's pockets for an item.

I never said that the guy wasn't agitated or that he wasn't acting as the aggressor. In fact, retard, I think that by saying the guy assaulted the valet unprovoked pretty much implies that fact. Or if you had a functioning brain and knew how to read that's what you could basically infer from what I said. Also, he could have been doing that stuff after the punch to cover up the fact he just assaulted the valet, but then again my post never said or implied that that wasn't the case either.

Or what, you're going to tell me that the guy KO'd the valet and rummaged through his pockets to rob him of the $18?

Most likely Scenario is the 'witnesses' either left prior to officers arriving or didn't want to be involved/complete a written statement and go to court to testify. And chances are responding officers weren't able to review video during the investigation as a lot of places need either a manager (who's off at night) or a tech guy (Who's off at night) to review video.

Since the likely-hood of this guy attacking the same person again is extremely low and they know who he is. Its not necessary to 'place him under arrest' on the spot. Furthermore depending on his articulation of the events, it can also result in a delayed arrest. (Without cooperating witnesses/video on the spot).

Where I live, even with witnesses willing to cooperate and after reviewing video he'd have most likely only been issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in court. (Same thing as a traffic ticket) The jail here won't accept people for nonsense like that.

So yeah, officer or not you can walk up to someone and deck them in the face and only get written a summons to go to court. Some places are far too busy to put everyone who punches someone in jail.

His follow up actions are irrelevant. Based on the entire video, the guy was obviously not in fear as he claimed in order to justify his use of force.

I have no idea why you would address is actions after the fact, in isolation, as if they are at all relevant.

I don't know why you quoted me because the post of mine which you quoted was not about him being arrested.

That being said, you must work in a pretty sh*tty area if someone getting knocked unconscious and transported by EMS doesn't result in an on scene arrest.

The guy said he reacted from his training. The video looked like he was trying to keep that story straight.

Can't believe i have to type this again. The night manager showed the video to the Ft. Lauderdale police sergeant who responded that same night. Still no charges......

It actually gives me hope that theres only like a handful of retards in this thread defending the scumbag cop. I was actually anticipating half of the thread blaming the valet.

Im not one to support all the BLM, anti cop nonsense, but shyt like this is a painful reminder that A LOT of cops, not all, but A LOT of cops place themselves above the law and do not have the temperament, professionalism, or education to be bestowed with power remotely close to what society gives police.

**** definitely needs to be looked at. The reason this guy did not get arrested is because he was an ex-cop, plain and simple. The chief released a blatantly false statement stating their was no visible harm noted (the dude is knocked out on the ground), they didnt see the tape (they did) and there were no witnesses (there were multiple, even on video)

Once the public outcry began, the chief tries and saves face by throwing the leo under the bus, NOW WE SHALL ARREST HIM. Yeah right, now that the news stations have the story, we can no longer cover it up.

Something needs to be done. I thought after the entire Ferguson thing **** would quiet down for a while because cops would realize public pressure was on them, but it does not seem to be better at all.

also, not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but is there a reason he is an EX cop? He looks pretty young.... jus sayin

Apparently he owns a gun store around Orlando, not sure how he could open one so early on, on a cops salary.

Maybe some old money southern inheritance, maybe he's doing high dollar instructing too since he has SWAT experience. That's an expensive truck and gun stores don't really have good margins

Also agreed. You will never find me in an anti-cop circle jerk, but this is a couple concerning video.
