Idk, someone made a pretty good point about Egypt and the pyramids in regards to slaves and abuse. I'm sure that negative aspects could be applied to the history of other cultures as well. The American flag itself is a historical symbol tied to some pretty atrocious stuff itself. But if the idea is about historical preservation, then that seems like a solid reason to me.

It's funny, I don't recall them calling in the National Guard when they were burning and rioting in Furgeson.

I believe the exemplary and wonderful mayor of Baltimore said to give those there "room to riot" and you know, express themselves. While they burned and destroyed property and such.

I don't recall anyone calling out the calvary when they burned things at Berkeley in California.
