Chit. Maybe I missed something. Last I heard, he passed out, hit his head, and they put him in a coma to let the brain swelling die down. There was a report that he was in stable condition and recovering.

Is it standard procedure to keep brain dead people in an induced coma? I thought that once it was established that someone was brain dead, they would keep the body alive long enough to recover organs for donation.

Could be wrong here as well, but doesn't a brain dead person "completely" die after a few days? I thought people went into organ failure shortly after.

This guy knows, CRNA crew.

True, his GF is not a clinician and the whole "not breathing/no pulse" who knows how much of that is accurate.

CRNA brah, if he did arrest, I would think his oxygen capacity would be lower then expected given his health (guess), meaning he would have less time without O2 to cause damage, what are your thoughts on this?

It's hard to speculate without more facts. Obviously he's a huge guy that takes lots of drugs, is he as unhealthy as the 75yo with severe vascular disease? Obviously not.

Pre-hospital arrests have a low survival rate (people that do well tend to be either v-fib arrests that are shocked or opioid addicts that get narcan). But, still some people survive (intact) even after being down for a long time.

Again, hopefully this wasn't a true arrest and he was just unresponsive.

It might be BS, but someone commented on his IG that they work at the hospital he's at, and that he's awake and talking.

Also, Big C Green (5% athlete) posted that he was taken off the coma inducing meds yesterday to let him wake up.

Chanel is going to spin this though right. The whole 'hit his head' theory sounds like an attempt at this to me. Maybe he did hit his head but as you say it was secondary to some other event (most likely an OD) if it happened at all. I don't think this is just Piana doing laps of his living room, tripping on a crumpled rug then smashing his head on his throne.

The guy tries to portray himself as some super positive go getter but he's clearly fukked up beyond recognition and probably using opiates to soothe the demons.

I hope he makes it, I wish no bad on him and find his videos entertaining. But there's clearly a huge dark side to this guy. To be fair he has spoken of his own death in videos and seemed to have an attitude of if it happens it happens.

There's no point in keeping a brain dead person sedated since they're brain dead. I've done an organ procurement once. Kept the brain dead patient ventilated, temperature-controlled, and on a couple IV meds. Got everything coordinated to go to the OR to get the organs collected. Brah was filleted open real quick. Also, not all brain dead people become organ donors. I can't imagine that any organs would being taken from him, although I have taken care of someone who received lungs from a druggie.
