Does anyone have any recommendations on what to use to clear the ar15 barrel? My boresnake (.22) won't go through.
You have an actual obstruction in the barrel? A bullet? A cleaning rod to tamp it out, or take it to a gun smith.

I don't know, I'm thinking there has to be some buildup inside that isn't allowing the bore snake to enter one side and come out the other. I noticed this while cleaning it two trips ago months ago, I should have asked and not continued to use it.

Well, remove the upper, and look down the barrel. If there is no obstruction, then use can use a brush, rod, and cleaner, and just work at it (from the receiver end).

I've shot thousands of rounds between heavy cleaning, and it never produced enough build-up to not have the weighted end of a bore snake just fall through.

If the end of the tube is slanted, it's commercial. If it's flat it's mil-spec.

Edit I'm assuming you mean you can't find a buttpad, not you can't fit one.

Just got the bore snake through, I can see a lot more through it. I've shot like 400 - 500 wolf golf through it before cleaning the barrel.

lol, you don't need to clean an AR barrel because of ~500 rounds of anything let alone Wolf Gold. Well, really, you probably neverneedto clean the barrel.

I just ran the bore snake through once, didn't add anything. Lots of carbon after touching the BCG though

Yeah, but he needs to know whether to order commercial spec or mil-spec. My guess is commercial spec. You linked to mil-spec.

Tormoz, pull the stock off and see if the end is slanted or square. It's easy to take off. Pry that plunger up with a bullet point or screwdriver and yank the stock off. If the tube's slanted order commercial spec. If square order mil-spec. I don't know of a buttpad that will fit on that factory el-cheapo stock.

Did DPMS ship their .308s with Commercial diameter stocks? I thought they'd all gone to mil diameter?

The packaging you are probably tearing up to send in the UPC's for the rebate anyway?

Have to stop spending so much money stopping and getting coffee and iced mochas and **** every morning. Guess I'll be cliche and try some Black Rifle Coffee Co coffee for the hell of it and put the brand new Keurig that never gets used to use.

Over the years DPMS has put both mil spec and commercial on their 308's. Whichever was cheapest from vendor X when they made an order I'm sure...

Why? Functionally they both do the same ****. Aside from not having quite as many stock choices as mil spec, it's definitely not worth the trouble of removing, selling, and replacing just to say it's mil spec lol.

Has nothing to do with "saying" what it is, it's about not investing in 2 different stock systems and having non-interchangeable parts. If you're buying a new stock, no reason to continue down the "commercial" path.
