Once you break out of that urban mentality where dealing with traffic and crowds all the time is "normal" you can't go back, nor do you want to.

I can't wait. I've got a master plan that I'm working towards. I'll be financially independent when I move as well, so I won't need to worry about "working" in the traditional sense, even though I do plan to keep very busy.

This is one thing I missed about Texas, you can get booze in supermarkets. More convenient since some Krogers are open 24/7.

Here in NY/NJ, you need to go to liquor stores.

X1000000

Lived in Houston my whole life. My last visit to our family cabin in Colorado over the summer convinced me that I need more of that in my life. Will be in Colorado Springs or Denver within the next 5 years.

Got some water and proteinz ready to grill. I'm on the NE side near Lake Houston but my house won't flood. If power stays on then it'll be a fun little 4-5 day weekend hahaha.

Just drove to ATM to get some cash. Also noticed that all gas stations down the louetta area were out of gasoline.

Got the 3 dogs, beer, cash, water and the AR/AKs ready. Oh yea and the fiance but she's expendable.

Plenty of gas in Katy still. I expect my house to flood if we get more than 14" of rain. That flood last year had the water an inch below my front door.

does using the bathroom at chipotle on cinco de mayo count the same as living through a hurricane?

Spring branch is really nice. It's up in the hill country far enough away from the spread of stone oak and next to canyon lake. If I lived out that way I'd never drive into san antonio, instead just go to new braunfels. The traffic around 281 and 1604 is just awful.

Houston brah checking in. Left work early to stock up. Should have enough water, definitely have enough booze. Looks like it's gonna be an extra short week next week, as I already have Friday off lulz.

EDIT: Currently at the gym getting one last workout in before the inevitable 3-4 day break :/

this isnt just a hurricane though, theres a likely chance it will be cat 4, and the big kicker is two other storms that are going to perfectly trap the hurricane right over the south east part of texas making the flooding and tornadoes last an extra 2-3 days. Its an extremely rare situation to one of a kind for a hurricane in the history of the whole country.

I got 2 18 packs of beer and a case of water. Gonna bbq some chicken before the rain comes in. Got some dollar store candles. they're saying power outages are really likely to happen across the whole south of texas and gulf coast. I should probably get some ice to keep the stuff in my fridge cold.
Saw all these people at the store with 6 cases of water in their carts, completely cleared out the shelves. The same people who would never drink anything other than soda on a daily basis are suddenly hoarding all the water.

This has a potential to be a CAT-4?

When Sandy hit, it was surreal watching roofs and **** get blown off. Watching powerlines dangling in the wind like electric snakes. Fuark.
